I have my shotgun skills almost maxed out and sometimes even at point blank range I am doing no damage
I got a Tiger scout and I averaged about 10 kills a game yesterday. Its pretty ridiculous.

It varies by person.
I also can't use a shotgun worth a darn, but I love knifing.
I have heard of good shotgunners who tried to knife, and couldn't do it.
Thunderbolt. verb and noun.

Kinda pissed for all the SP spent on Shotguns.
I have zero proficiency with nova knives and its pretty much easy mode for me. I simply didnt want to get a Min Scout since everyone had them but now I sorta regret it haha but the Tiger Scout is a great recourse. I will upgrade my speed skills and use a knife on my Amarr scout

Any form of left or right movement by the enemy completely negates Shotguns. Because I suck that bad with them.

As a user of both decently, i will always prefer the knife cause its a knife. Though if im at 0% range i can two shot heavies,
but ive unfortunately built a reputation of not being trusted in CQC. XD
The trick is GETTING that close....

Hit detection issues is why I hate the shotgun, it got so bad that I decided to use the breach since I cant afford to shoot a moving target but I have shot a stationery target twice with a breach shotgun and did no damage. Pellets bounce off at less than 3m

The Shotgun has extremely bad hit detection. Probably the worst in the game.
Put your flags up in the sky.
And wave them side to side.

I suck so bad at NKing i prefer SG.
I do use however NK's as SIDEARM to deal with heavies next to my Breach AR in occasions...

I think that you mean that in reverse. Last I checked, nova knives have more alpha damage than melee. Plasma cannon is not a close range weapon

Why use a shotgun when a Knife does more damage at damn near the same range.
Lol 5 meter optimal, gtfo.
I'd rather have longer optimal and no falloff.
CCP holds the Caldari's hand so this doesn't happen again.
