I understand why they only have the server up on mondays, saterdays and sundays, but really, why only those three days, why not everyday at serten times? |

This weekend they actually opened them up on Thursday around 9am. If you read the server message when you try to sign in during the week it says they open them up on Thursdays.
But its ironic because I can not get in today, Monday. I was on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday....and now today Monday can't get in. Go figure.
Also......in reference to my other post. I have no more beta keys to give out. In total I have given out 5 keys and at this point don't have any more time to keep getting them and giving them away. I beleive I have helped CCP enough here by getting people in the beta.
Its time for me to get in the action of playing a little more...........thanks to all who sent me friend invites on the PSN. You most likely got a message from me saying I have no more keys. You can keep me on your friends list or you can delete me....that is totally up to you.
If you still need a Beta code you can try over at Playstation Home/Dust 514 Home Space. Keep in mind you have to do all 12 events at the E3 virtual booth to get VIP pass to enter the Dust 514 Home Space. Once in there if you want to contact me I can give you some tips on Slay to get your code.

Does anyone have anymore spare keys? I only just noticed 2 days ago i had been sent mine and now i have my little brother harrassing me for one :)
2 would be ideal as i can see my cousin starting when little bro gets on but either is helpful.

I agree with the many people here. I too have some friends who would like to play dust514 over my rant of how great it will be over the passed year or so. Also that I have been playing EVEsince 2005.
Funny thing, as soon as I got the dust key from my EVE account I told a friend and in less than 10 minutes I had 5 friends call me and yell at me for it. 
So I will take any dust keys available. One of them is a gold member I think on another game, he spent over $4,000 on a F2P FPS. He of course will be the first to get the key. Cause I suck lol.

Yeah I had just went on PSN home and tries to get myself one but when it came to give me one all I got was X's Then soon after it told me they had all been given away.. yet I do not see that many players online.. I am thinking about of kids thought ooo how fun downloaded it, played a little and deleted it. |

Wow that really sucks to hear all this guys. I actually gave out, as posted, like 5 keys. What is really dissapointing is that out of all the people who I gave the keys to and are on my friends list, only 1 actually plays the Beta. 1 told me he did not like it and would not play it anymore and the other 3 have not even seen them playing at all.......while they did download the client, if it says DUST514 on their player tag, they stay for like 30 min if that and then leave. Such a waste of codes.
Now it also sucks that PSN ran out of codes so fast...........supposedly they had approximately 10,000 codes to give away for the DUST HOME space. I have not seen at any given time any numbers of that type on DUST514 when the servers are up. The most players I have seen on any given day is approximately 270.......at times you go in and the numbers are in the low double digits. If all the codes were given away, the numbers should be atleast 10,000 plus. You figure all the Beta codes that went out to EvE players, all the Beta registrations and then the PSN codes.
Supposedly, as everyone has heard or seen posted, Open Beta will begin on June 29th for the public. Hopefully by then alot of the issues have been hashed out. But all I can say is for everyone to just tell your friends and the such to be patient. And honestly, while I am enjoying the Closed Beta and learning the game in its entirety......the game does not live up to all the hype that has been talked about or shown in videos. The Beta is very very very limited and does not give you and entire span of the entire game and all the features that have been talked about.......you can only play Skirmish and Ambush just so many times on the same maps each time without getting bored after awhile.
In my opinion, and I hope CCP reads this, they should allow atleast the formation of a set amount of player created corps and activate the corp battle section of the game. Make the Beta a little more interesting, and yeah also the contacts in the social section of the player interface............no point in having active in the beta because you can't even communicate with the people you place on your contacts....all you can do is look at info, place on watch list or block them. No point at all.
But enough of that.................lets all look forward to June 29th were we can whoop on some newbie hides........ |

Hi all,
This may be obvious to some, but not to others.
Please ensure that if you are lucky enough to have extra codes, and you decide to give them away to family members or friends, can you be careful not to give them a code for the wrong region.
That is, if you are giving away a NA code, make sure that the person you are giving it to has a PSN account registered within the North American region: (US, Canada, Mexico )
Likewise, if you are giving away an EU code, that the PSN account is registered in the EU region: (Australia, New Zealand, Croatia, Czech Rep., Greece, India, Ireland, Israel, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, South Africa, Turkey, UAE, UK, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, Switzerland, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine)
This prevents unnecessary petitions.
Also, as a reminder:
* Do not sell these PSN codes for monetary gain, as that is a violation of the NDA.
* Remind the receiver of the PSN codes that they will need to accept the terms and conditions of the NDA in order to participate.

Any news on how the next set of keys will be distributed? The Home space still has the recruiter, alludes to how to go about getting in to the beta, etc., and makes no mention of the keys running dry. So I'm wondering if once more codes are made available, they'll show up in Home for those who have completed the requirements.
Of course, this is all moot if they indeed open it up on the 29th. But seems like the consensus around here is that date refers only to another patch of the closed beta. Outside of the wiki and ign pages, I've found nothing from CCP to confirm an opening up this soon.
I too have a friend itching to get in. Ironically, he was hyped for this game long before I'd ever heard of it. He just happened to be too busy to sit down and go through all the silly E3 booth errands before the keys ran out. |
