Patch 1.10 was a great patch CCP added many cool things along with telling us about the roadmap. However their has been some concerns I would like to address CCP about. Im a logistic so I see just about everything their is to see on the field. One thing that I noticed the last few patches was that light suits are becoming overpowered. Either it is just the sheer speed of the suits or the notorious cloak that is causing the problem. The scouts are too fast that no one can get any hit marker on them. This is really bad for heaves because they are so slow. People may disagree with this saying light suits are expose to be fast. Well, ok what about the shotgun and the R/E ( Remote Explosives). I see scouts all day blow me or my heavy im reping up with R/E`s. Its not like we cant see them do it its just there too fast to shoot and R/E`s are too powerful to be used against any drop suit. The real thing I want to discuss with you is shotguns. Shotguns have been a problem since the cloaks came in. An gallente scout shoots and kills my 523 shield 1300 armor heavy in four or five shots. Now four or five shots doesn't seem like a problem right. My heavy should me able to turn around and kill them. Nope, heaves are to slow to keep up with any type of light suit. Even a gallente heavy could not keep up with them. My solution to these problems are to make heaves faster, shotguns weaker. To address the problem about the R/E`s just make it vehicles only, or at least lower the radius and damage. Now addressing the problems with guns. I use the combat rifle proficiency 5 and I do pretty good with it. The only thing is it does nothing to shields. You may be saying... but its a armor based. Ok, but a rail rifle isn't shield based but is still takes out shield 5x faster than my combat rifle. The problem is the combat rifle has not enough damage and the percentages taken from the shield damage is to great. Their for doing nothing to shields. Another problem with some weapons like the combat rifle is it doesn't register hits sometimes. That has been an issue for a little while now. Also swarms are a big issue that maps are to wide open to dodge any swarm. Something needs done about swarms because they are killing tanks out. This brings me to my next topic. Tanks and any vehicles are dying in dust. People say tanks are OP they are not OP. People don't like tanks because it interferes with what their doing. Well im hear to shine some light. For one tanks do not have enough armor for the battlefield. If swarms are going to continue like this CCP needs to bring back the PROTO TANK. Tanks need a revival and that is what will do it. This also goes back to how overpowered Remotes are. CCP I would be very happy to hear what future plans you have and if you will address any of these problems I have found repetitively. |

I think fixing hit detection would solve most of the problems you addressed. And I am betting that you dont use a shotgun. 5 shots are too much to kill a 500 eHP suit, due to hit detection you need to fire more bullets than you need oops I read wrong but if you have a 1700 eHP suit you would be very slow, thats the drawback of packing so much eHP. I play a scout with under 300 eHP. I only have 212 armor and 75 shield. If I am any slower I would be useless

REs are annoying but its because they are the only counter to heavy /logi combos. A good heavy should be able to kill a shotgun scout at least 50% of the time. That sounds balanced to me. Heavies do not need to be faster.
I think the combat rifle is fine. It's my main weapon.
Swarms are indeed a bit too powerful. It's a tricky thing to balance though. As soon as AV becomes a little too weak we get tanks and ads running wild and spammed relentlessly. We saw that a few patches ago. |

RR? Fast on shields?
If anything, my Prof. 3 CR works wonders faster on shield suits than my Prof. 3 RR or ARR.
Please buff my Magsex. It doesn't hit hard enough...

The thing you need to understand about the scouts is that their hit detection is actually dependent on the size and shape of their suit. There have been a few videos posted in the past where experiments were done showing that you can shoot between the legs of a target or between the arm and torso and not hit them. Supposely the hit box is actually the shape of the suit. This meant that female mercs have an advantage over the male mercs with the exception of the Minmatar Assaults/Logis and all racial Sentinels/Commandos. I can't seem to find the videos I saw earlier on YouTube, but I did see them.
But of course, these videos date back to previous updates so I don't know for sure if the hit box has remained the same or not.
Assuming the hit box hasn't changed, what could be done is that the hit box should be made standard regardless of gender. All female and male mercs should have the same hit box size appropriate for their frame size and that you should NOT be able to shoot between their legs or arms without hitting them. In other words, a solid box from head to toe, shoulder width, and as deep as the torso for a MALE mercenary. There should be NO gaps between the arms and torso and no gaps between the legs.

CR is best light weapon in the game right now, hands down. 1200rpm and the ScR was nerfed for having 750 lol. I can easily turn that burst weapon into full auto with the feathering of the trigger.
I only play dust514ums now. It was always more fun than the actual game anyways.

Many of your issues with movement, etc could likely be addressed through fitting optimization and core skills.
The combat rifle was very good when first introduced. It's less so now but it is more "balanced". I have shot leaping SG scouts out of the air with it. Not always, but sometimes. |

It probably won't make a difference. If at all, probably not much difference considering those shotgun scouts work on almost the exact same principles as that of a dedicated Nova Knifer. The difference being is that Nova Knifing hit detection has vastly improved and you have the capability of killing most tanked up heavy suits on the first hit. Gallente scouts would likely cross train -- if they haven't already -- into the Minmatar scout suit for the knife benefit and then you and me will likely have the same conversation about how people will then want Nova Knives removed from the game because now former shotgunners are picking up a knife.
Also, don't forget, if a scout got close enough to you to use a shotgun then they will have no problem getting closer with a knife. Even an uncharged knife attack can be a death sentence to most assaults. It's difficult, but not impossible. I would know. I'm a dedicated Nova Knifer since closed beta. If there is anything we knifers have in common with shotgunners is that we know how to use CQC situations to our advantage.
