My main idea with these is that their 'racial' bonus should probably not be so racial.
For commando suits, I think all 4 types should just get a generic damage boost to all light weapons and side arms, let their differences come from the slot layouts and base stats.
For assault suits I think that the current 'bonus' for gallente, caldari, and minmitar are kind of ok, but again I think these should apply to all light weapons and side arms.
So gallente get less dispersion with all weapons.
Minmitar are able to duct tape more ammo to all weapons.
Caldari reload faster, although maybe they should get a bonus to kick for all weapons instead as some people have been wanting this as the new bonus?
Amarr are a little difficult, they have heat build up, only the laser rifle, scrambler, and ion pistol have overheating mechanics, so they'd either need a new bonus that applies to all weapons ontop of this over heat bonus, or replace the over heat bonus with a new bonus that applies to all weapons.

Do I? Are my ideas what should be discussed or the reasons behind them? I think my ideas can be discussed without discussing the reasons. I'll give some reasons anyways
I feel like the Commando's are too limited currently, nobody seems to agree on how they should be buffed, I feel like making their damage bonus apply to all weapons will do some to make them more versitile as a class in general.
The assaults as well, having their bonus apply to only one class of weapon are fairly limited, while the bonuses are not very good in general, your performance isnt really made any worse by using a weapon you aren't getting a bonus in for your assault class, so why not just make that assault class bonus apply to all weapons. Its the suit itself and the skill of the user with that suit that is giving you a bonus, why would say a gallente assault get dispersion bonus on assault rifle but not have the same stability/whatever to get dispersion bonus on all weapons, and the same for other assault bonuses.

Commandos are fine as far as bonuses go. Assaults need some looking at except Amarr and Minmatar. Maybe change Gallente and Caldari Assault bonuses to something that can't be skilled into like recoil for the Caldari

lol no on the commandos CCP said a proto caldari commando with 3 complex damage mods and a swarm launcher would be OP (if he got 10% damage bonus). btw the swarm launcher is caldari tech however just like the nova knives though the Minnie get the bonus to them.
on the commandos give them 20-30 more cpu & 10-15 pg on proto and scale it down on adv & basic. plus add an extra slot like the heavies have. commandos give up the grenade for the eq slot. the heavy weapon & sidearm for two light weapons. they lost some ehp for some speed. but why lost a slot layout for 5 to 4? |

The commando bonus should be the lvl of your commando suite should improve your skill tree stats like operation, reload speed , proficiency, optimization etc. and the 2% dmg for racial bonus should stay as is. The goal is to improve the effectiveness of all weapons across the board and racial weapons gets a double up on proficiency |

Going to have to disagree on the generic damage bonus. I think racial matching of suit to weapon should always be encouraged so racially specific bonuses are better in my opinion.

I feel that new modules need to be added. Bonuses should improve module usage, and not passive skills. If they are going to make a ROF based skill, it should improve a ROF mod that can be applied to the suit. I feel the same about the amarr overheat bonus, as it should be a module available to all but with incentive to use it on the amarr assault as it improves the module's effectiveness. Resistance mods are another example. |

Well before the spool time was quite short so I was more for the kick as well. But now that the spool is so ungodly high, I'm more in favor of the spool a bonus.

If/when rattati assigns spool reduction to calassaults the old RR QQ will start right back up again.
Because most of the closed beta vets cut their teeth on the calassault.
There will be a bitter harvest of tears.

Things commando needs:
Minor Speed and stamina increase. Additional slot per tier. Grenades, since it's often used as an AV platform and grenades are crucial to this. Minor buff to suit precision. It's ok for them to be seen, but they go toe to toe with assaults more often than not so why be blind to them? Additional durability, regen not hp. Don't want to step on sentinel toes.
In terms of bonuses, commandos used to have one that buffed any defensive module fitted. It allowed them to have decent durability without increasing the slot count. Well, in theory, anyway. It was only 10% maxed out. 25% maxed might be more substantial.

I think this ideas could work, but with one minor change.
Keep the current bonuses, cut them in half, then add your bonuses to make up the other half. This way suits still get to specialize in some weapons.

People complain about everything in the forums ... rep tools .?. turning while falling .?. this will be no different and the Caldari Assault would actually have a racial bonus like the Min , Gal and Amarr has .
Reload speed ???

Edit : X percentage to spool time and X to rifle kick per level .
Being able to fire more stable and accurate is far more important then reload speed .

Now I could get behind these proposals and not take away the EQ slot from commandos .
You basically say what I already feel that commandos need ... great work .

Spool time can not be done because it would directly affect dps of the bolt pistol and charge sniper rifle. |
