I'm a loginoob, and squat phonetics weren't in the handbook. I spawned on top of a socket earlier to drop ammo for some dude with a forge gun, figured I'd rep him for a while since there were snipers picking away. Guy ducks into cover and squats twice, as I don't know what that means, and I already dropped ammo, I dropped an uplink and went back to repping. He ducks into cover and squats twice again. Does squatting twice just mean "get a Mic, scrub!"? I can't help but feel that I somehow failed that forgegun bro. |

Ahhh...
I remember the first time I was "squatted". I was a newly minted Logi running a crummy BDR2 rep tool with a Militia suit. Trying desperately to keep under 10 deaths in a battle. It was a city map and I rounded a corner and spotted this fat guy with a big gun...later learned to call him an HMG Sentinel...and a couple of bodies around him that must have been squadmates. He looked to be in a bind, so I put that stringy little thing on him after a lot of fiddling around to get it aimed right. He was ducking behind a wall and stepping out and firing. His little bar was climbing every time he stepped back, and I figured I had something to do with it. 
Afterwards, he stopped, deliberately turned to me and...bowed... I swear it wasn't a squat. It looked like a BOW. I felt pride that this proven warrior had respected what small thing I did to keep him in the fight, and took the time to acknowledge it in what, to me at the time, was a voiceless game. I jotted down his name and corp after the battle.
Two battles later, I saw someone else from that corp, so I followed them around as best I could and tried to be helpful...pitifully, laughably so, I am sure. At the end of the battle I got a squad invite...one of my first. The world of Dust514 opened up to me. I learned so much that day from the TRUE Logi in the squad. After a handful more battles, the squad leader said to me..."So Dubya, I see you are in an NPC corp still. Why don't you send in an app to our corp?"
I have been in Abandoned Privilege ever since, and I always, ALWAYS try to find a way to BOW to another player when they do me a good turn.
FPS = First Person Support. Kills win battles but it's kinda hard to kill if you're dead and out of ammo.

As a heavy, when I need ammo, I usually walk right in front of a logi and continuously squat whilst swapping weapons. Maybe shoot your feet with my sidearm if you're not getting the hint.
