I got bored of the Logi. So I respecced and I have skilled into the HAV. Nothing else,just the HAV. I know there are great Vehicle drivers out there. I want everyone to give me tips and tricks. And I seem to die pretty quick.

Pro tip: Try it on an alt & if u like it & if u r good at it.....then skill in your main.

When you role in you should have already scoped the area as best you could and before you go in you should have already planned an escape route.
Move around, over and under tanks in a ret*rded ballet of tank humping to avoid the enemy turret, especially if it is a rail. Rational tank like battles a la WWII are practically non-existent. You must behave just as ret*rded as infantry in this arena rumble crapfest.

Good tankers: DELBOY, duna2002, (and I can't remember the other guy's name...)
Missiles are really good vs tanks, use them.
I may not have a mic, but trust me, you NEED me in your squad if you want to win.

I skilled into shields in my alt because armor slows you down. So I think it will be shields.

You should by all means, however you shouldn't rely solely on them to fend off against AVers.

Who are they and how can I contact them? anyways, my main aim is killing infantry, but I will give missiles a go.

Ok. So how do I fight good AVers? I had this match an hour ago when an ADV Caldari Assault wrecked me. I couldn't do anything because of him.

Depends on the situation.
If AV hits you first, your best bet is to drive away and asses the situation.
- Was it swarms, plasma cannon, forge gun?
- Where were the shots coming from?
-Militia, ADV, PRO?
Also, what turret are you using.
- Blaster, if thy are on the ground hit them hard, your better off fighting then running away. If they are long range then GTFO
- Missile, toss a couple salvoes, but dont risk much. Better off mid range sniping, dont let them get too close, and forge out range you, so dont try unless you an get close with cover.
- Rails: Keep moving, and engage infantry from long range. Your not supposed to be mixing it up with infantry anyway, so stay out of conlict areas, your job is to kill tanks. Your better off picking off forge gunners.
Also, Modules
- Shield hardners, stay a bit, but get ready to move
- Armor hardeners, get out of there, they wont hold out for very long.
- Lots of reps, boosters, hit and run
-Raw HP better not rely on it too long, big numbers wont necessarily save you
Factor in al of this to pick your AV fights.
Redline for Thee, but no Redline for Me.

Yup they were but now it sucks, thats what i heard....

You'll have a hard time trying to kill infantry with your HAV cuz pretty much every turret currently sucks against it. Blaster dispersion is ridiculus, you'll have to unload the entire clip with missiles to even think about harming someone that understands at least the basics of the game and with the rail your aim must be literally perfect. I suggest you the rail, even with a STD version you'll be able to take down proto tanks if you fit your tank well, destroys LAVs in 2 shots and dropships in 3-4. Now imagine them filled with reds, easy WPs, as for killing infantry You'll just have to learn when to fire in order to see that +50 on your screen.Your match routine should become:
1- Destroy instalations (especially those on your redline as they'll be the reason of 90% of your deaths)
2- Get rid of other HAV (read farm WP on noobs trying to revenge kill you)
3- Roam around the map making sure that your team is the onlyone having vechicles on the battlefield (especially look for dropships as this will help your team preventing enemies from droping uplinks on rooftops and will reward you with a fair ammount of WPs) and,ocassionaly, if there is to thread for you pick on infantry (having gunners helps a lot).
If you're doing all this correctly probably just higher tier logis will have more WPs than you.

P.S. Use shields and never stay in one spot for too long.
P.P.S. If I see you camping in the redline be sure that I'll drop that 5k orbital on your head.

lol get ready to spend another $20, because you're going to be hemorrhaging ISK left and right.
Best part is, you ask for advice after doing such a monumentally dumb thing.
Just buy another respec and put your SP back into infantry. You have no experience in vehicles, you're going to get wiped out for a long time before it could be worth it.
Do yourself that favor.

LOL you think duna is good? No wonder everybody complains about everything related to vehicles. Delboy has literally one fit, and only uses missile. I have all 3 turrets, so I have far more variety.

As a AV unit the hardest tanks i have come across are shielded fast tanks also dont stop moving momentum is your friend

Sure, pull out that HAV. Annoy and hassle some infantry around a point for a few minutes. Might even last long enough for some of your friends to come take it or reinforce it. DON'T LINGER! As soon as the first redberry with any experience notices you are causing a problem, they will switch suits and you had better be hauling out of there, and you had better hope there isn't an ADS pilot in the air.
Playing as a tanker can be a fun diversion, excursion, or temporary role for those with ISK to burn, but from what I have seen lately, only the best of the best of the best can come close to being a dominant force over more than a few minutes of a match. Every squad I am in, folks seem to salivate as soon as a tank gets called in. They can't WAIT to switch to their AV fitting and go take you out with little fear of repercussion. Everyone wants to be that hero that chases off the big tank.
FPS = First Person Support. Kills win battles but it's kinda hard to kill if you're dead and out of ammo.
