I like to see this community as well as CCP to come together and talk about the current recruitment system for Dust 514. I'm not talking about in-game recruitment like a player corp looking at newbies in an NPC corp. I'm talking about current browser-based system we have in place for recruiting brand new players into Dust 514.

Under the current new-player recruiting system, we don't have much incentive in managing so many recruits into the game especially when there doesn't seem to be any system in place to track the progress of up to 25 new players let alone keep them motivated long enough to grind 100,000 WPs each for the recruiter to be able to claim that nice Senior Recruiter LAV BPO. And this is before the 50-recruit goal for the Master Recruiter Assault C-II Dropsuit BPO -- which to be honest, not everyone is Caldari.
But it's not just the lack of management and way of encouraging new players to stick around and grind so many WPs that is the problem with new-player recruiting. It's also the lack of flexibility when it comes to recruiting players. Not everyone who has a PS3 owns a PC and therefore may find it very difficult to be able to accept a link from a recruiter even on a smartphone with the current website format which isn't really smartphone friendly to begin with to be honest. There is also no system in place to enable a veteran Dust player to invite a recruit into the game via the PlayStation network.
I'm sure many of you out there have great ideas on how to improve this so that new players can get a better experience when being recruited, but here are my current recommendations.
1. Make the recruiting site smartphone friendly like the Eve Online websites that CCP already has. 2. Enable veteran Dust players to send an invite to a new player via the PlayStation Network in a way which would not require a recruit to go to a website in case they don't have a PC. 3. Give bigger rewards for recruiting new players into player-run corporations rather than letting them stagnate in an NPC corp. 4. Make it easier to track and manage all of the recruits that veteran players bring in. Give us tools to achieve this rather than having us rely only on pen and paper.
The new player experience would also play a key role in encouraging recruits to grind to the 100,000 WP goal. Daily Missions might help, but there needs to be more incentives than just strong boxes and so far strongboxes have become the butt of all jokes. I have 220 strongboxes but only 6 keys. I'm not going to spend AUR just for a key. If I'm not willing to, then it's very likely the new recruit wouldn't be so willing either especially after I explain everything to the recruit about what's going on in Dust. So for new players, I suggest lowering the number of amount of strongboxes rewarded and increasing the amount of boosters being rewarded in Daily Missions because that is exactly what the recruits will be needing early on in their Dust careers. They don't want to be rewarded with so many boxes that you can rebuild and reinforce the Great Wall of China on the first week of playing Dust.
