to them to make them better because right now they both a part of the problem of competitive game play .
Matches are far too one sided for the most part and most matches , you can figure out in the first three minuets .
Most rarely go to the end with both teams battling it out because in the early settings , you already know who's gonna win and that's sad .
Where's the fierce competition ????
Out of say 30 matches , I can find 3 or 4 that were well worth the effort and fight and that has nothing to do with any spam or camping of any sort ... just poor matchmaking .
Hit detection has been a problem in this game since it's existence and has been a topic for many a OP in the forums and I understand about connection issues for some and such but it kills overall game play for the most part and the " Blue Flash Effect " is back in full effect lately and some might say that it never left .
Understandable about the recent attacks but it just seem that these two issues , along with some glitches like falling threw the map when one checks the mini map in a vehicle in certain areas get no attention or even acknowledgement from the " powers that be " , we talk about it as a community but no mention from the Dev's .
Is Mu working as intended .?. because it's still a " stomp fest " for the most part in most matches .
Wasn't it suppose to make the matches more creative ???
Can these issues get or receive any attention ???

One of the biggest problems is low player count. I don't think there are enough "great" players for a day full of good matches. We have something like 3,000 players on during the day, across the world (as far as I know).
We need more players, and a much better NPE to keep them if we want any kind of change

Would attention to some of the well known issues that the community bring up , somewhat relieve that problem ?
Could it be , the lack of attention to some of these well known issues ... that keep some of the previous players and new hopefuls from being more involved / re-involved in the current scheme of things ???
New content is nice and shiny , sales and items to purchase is good for the overall business aspect of the game but the mechanics are lacking .
Attention to detail might help to create new or renewed interest in Dust .
Yes , they really need to step up there game as far as the instruction and guidance of new players .

Matchmaking is quite possibly worse now than before it was "reworked". Desperately needs attention. There must be an error or oversight somewhere in the system, because this can't possibly be working as intended.
Reality is the original Rorschach.
Verily! So much for all that.

I have to admit that most of the matches where I play in pubs ... players are horrible for the most part , don't value their logi ( when I say their I mean team ) most do not watch each others back and stand around and watch team mates in gun fights instead of just ridding them of the trouble and killing the enemy , HAV's and DS's get no counter and roam free for the most part until the end of the match , players running in multiple directions with no coordination ... sometimes running from confrontation when they have the numbers and I guess that has to do with lack of trust .
I just don't see too much camping or spam like I said more then poor matchmaking and lack of fundamentals and trusting in team mates but that might have something to do with one sided matches and the feeling of helplessness in game .
The teams are poorly placed together with one side far outweighing the other for the most part .

Its basically scrubs vs noobs, one have all the isk and protostomp, while the rest are the fodder. Then theres the few dedicated 'casuals' like me who just play for fun, and when were up against people of the same skill level and win/lose by a tiny margin, that that **** is worth spending a million isk for, as matches like those are rare, very rare and are worth all the time and isk spent.
Pretty much sums it up .

But wait guys, we got a cool SSAO effect and better lighting from the sun
In all seriousness. Instead of CCP trying to fix this known issues, and then add morr stuff to the game, they just kept adding and taking out. Hit detection should be a priority following better NPE and then we can focus on adding/taking.
I never asked nor wanted the SSAO effect and the lighting effect from the sun.

Mu isn't matchmaking remember.
It shuffles the people in the queue so that the win/loss ratios and warpoint margins of the individual players on each team are more even.
It doesn't, say, notice that True Adamance is in the queue, see me and go "oh look! An incompetent tanker and an incompetent AV! Let's put em in a box and make 'em fight!"
I will use Mr.Shooter01 as an example. We seem to have a dead-even Mu score.
For my ADS tests we couldn't get FW matches to go, so we q-synced pubs. We were invariably placed opposite one another when our missions matched.
Matchmaking is another system. What we have is team balancing. This does not stop stomps. It only means for every 6 loonies looking to stomp the game takes the six meanest people in the queue with them according to Mu score and sets them opposite the squad.
Does this clarify the system?
EVE Online is what you get when engineers attempt to create "fun" without consulting someone who comprehends the word.

Latency is easily spotted by true FPS players, and why play when you get 3 or 4 guys on the other team all going 2x/2 match in and match out.

MU was poorly thought out in the first place. Including win/loss in the equation for matchmaking is a recipe for disaster. You end up with a cluster **** of players in the middle just bouncing back and forth from winning side to losing side.
At this point im pretty sure everyone knows the pattern and quickly goes AFK when they know they are on the losing side making it even worse for the people that actually want to fight it out. |

I agree.
Matchmaking/team balancing should be a major priority. I find that even with all the other issues, they can be more tolerable if games are close. When games are out of whack, the other shortcomings seem that much more frustrating.
If they could fix HD, speed tanking could be a real thing, and they could take out that speed cap that is supposedly in place.

Yeah I understand the concept but since you must ...
It shuffles the people in the queue so that the win/loss ratios and warpoint margins of the individual players on each team are more even.
So it's a mechanic that determines the players who will participate in said match ... to me that's matchmaking , I understand how it was explained but its a mechanic that determines who will participate in ALL matches and it was suppose to even out said matches , that's why I mentioned it .
Does this clarify the system?
I guess , before the inception of Mu , how were matches determined .?. because the concept didn't exist . Now it's suppose to enhance the match by the said mechanics that you and CCP explained in its incorporation , its a help to the system that's already in existence so why not look at the system as a whole and rework it .?. I guess that's too much to ask with everything that's on the plate and all .
Hmm .... any suggestions on how we could incorporate a proper system for matchmaking that will help to make matches more even ?
I guess that's what Mu was suppose to do huh ?
