That's what Scrambler Rifles are for. Most of the action is CQC and a lot involves vehicles. Vehicles > Snipers. Snipers are just obsolete and completely superfluous.

They are not necessarily weak, however they are certainly not game changers either.
The only way they change matches nowadays is they make the match annoying, that's about it.
And that's coming from someone who used to be 100% dedicated sniper.

Well when you play in a match against close to 10 snipers then you are allowed to say snipers are useless. These days players dont care about the objective just KDR

Taking hit detection into consideration: yes.
Taking their current range into account: yes.
Taking their damage into account: no.
As you can see, there are various factors at play. Hit detection depends on the current match a sniper is trying to snipe with for some are great, and others are not so great. I tend to get blue shields when a target is moving, even though I got a hit marker. This happens 95% of the time on a moving target. I wish I were exaggerating. The range nerf we got might have been a bit too strong in my opinion. Not much to say on that except for the fact that it makes snipers useless on certain maps and objectives. The damage we deal, however is manageable. Headshots are really rewarding, while body shots deal just enough to try and follow up with another shot, though the Tactical and Charge seem balanced, I feel as though the Vanilla needs a tad bit more damage to make it a decent choice outside of the other variants at proto.

Oh I don't know about that, I usually find a good spot overlooking an objective combat zone, drop hive and unlink and snipe away. So that when other snipers spawn on my link, they're actually helping to defend/assault the objective somewhat
