It's a lot like the old Typhoon Battleship in eve before the rebalance- It was horrible until you had spent almost quadruple the sp into it than any other battleship, it used Five different weapon systems (Autocannons, Artillery, Cruise Missiles, Torpedoes and Drones), could either armor, shield, speed or ewar tank, and even made a decent heavy logistics ship.

Only armor skills? Well, full armor tank + damage mods. Only shield skills? Well full shield tank plus regulators. All core skills? Shield regen tank + hybrid armor and speed tank. Weapon choices? a fast suit can use weapons from anyone, although that means even more sp investment.

After about 22 mil sp the Minsault truly becomes relevant do to its great versatility. Newer players will find better milage from specialty armor (amarr) or specialty shield (caldari) suits before they can pull off the minmatar suit well. High sp toons with respecs will find better milage from the minmatar assault because they can use their vast sp to morph it into a constantly changing adaptable assault suit.

I cant seem to do anything well anymore. This is the only game I have trouble with. So my advise never play another game if you want to stay relevant in Dust IMO. I played Dragon Age Inquisition for two weeks, but I made sure to log onto dust for one match every week just to keep from losing too much ground to others. It works almost like the assault but with less hp, but that thing is so damn OP with it's strafing, I've had numerous great battles in it, often turning them into wins by mostly myself. I may not have a mic, but trust me, you NEED me in your squad if you want to win. When I'm on a roll, I'm unstoppable.

Without supporting skills, the Min Assault isn't anything special. But when you have Codebreaker L5, Kin Cat L5, Shield/Armor L5, etc, it becomes a beast. It also rewards pumping SP into its complimentary weapons.
