or math if you're American, just crunch the numbers.
How much damage is my SCR doing?
Viziam Prof 5 3 complex damage mods
I don't know the stacking penalty and just suck with maths.
1) So how much damage am I doing per shot to shields? as I understand the proficiency skill only applies when shooting shields.
2) Then how much damage is my Viziam doing to armour per shot with 3 complex damage mods given the stacking penalty because I have NO IDEA how much the stacking penalty is.
and CCP only give us base stats, I want to see my upgraded damage stats reflected in my equipped weapon stats.
but until then I will transfer 1m ISK to the first person to come up with the answer, although I won't know if it's correct so I'll wait for a few people to respond.

thanks dude, i should have put like a school test "show your workings out for extra marks" but I really don't care, over 100 damage, that makes me happy. also lower damage profile than base damage for armour? hmm, will have to use range and charge shots a bit more in my gameplay.
1 million ISK to you Sir guaranteed at some point today,
EDIT: to match your edit, thanks for showing the stacking penalties!
would I gain more damage for using an enhanced damage mod instead of a third complex?

No. It takes that into account. Fortunately though, it counts the better mods first, so the smaller mods will get the bigger penalty.

this is difficult, I don't know the answer myself so cannot deem a correct answer, I will have to go with the first answer regardless of correctness as I am none the wiser.
base damage + % increase from proficiency + % from first damage mod, percentage from 2nd damage mod (minus stacking penalty ) + % from 3rd damage mod (minus stacking penalty) = total damage to shields.
that's the only way I can work out the formula for the answer (minus knowing the numbers) so if someone shows the numbers for each part of the equation it will become clearer to me.

I'm not worried about it. He forgot the damage mods for the armor damage... I also really don't know where in the world he got "1.33"
It would be:
(((71.5x1.07))x(1+(0.07x0.87)))x(1+(0.07x0.57))
then
x1.35 for Shields or x0.8 for Armor
That's how I do it at least. Its the fastest way to plug it into a calculator.

Individual bonuses: 5.00%, 4.35%, 2.85%, Total bonus: 12.69%
Preliminary tests indicated that Dust 514 also uses the same formula as EVE, shown below: S(n) = 0.5^[((n-1) / 2.22292081) ^2]
n = the nth module added S = stacking effect for this particular module addition
Module bonuses are ordered from highest to lowest, thus giving you the maximum bonus.
For the damage mods we will assume that Prof V applies FIRST
Shield Damage w/ Pro V
No Mod 85.8 * 1.15 = 98.67 1 mod 98.67 * 1.05 = 103.6035 2 mods 98.67 * 1.0935 = 107.895645 3 mods 98.67 * 1.1269 = 111.191223
Armor Damage
No Mod 71.5 * .80 = 57.2 1 mod 57.2 * 1.05 = 60.06 2 mods 57.2 * 1.0935 = 62.5482 3 mods 57.2 * 1.1269 = 64.45868
The thing that I have not been able to figure out is how rollover damage applies. For example when a person has 50 shields left and you fire one shot that applies 111.19 damage what amount of damage is carried over to the armor and how it is calculated. One would assume that the remaining damage would be reduced by proficiency and the profile reduction leaving the base damage modified number which is then applied to armor but this seems like a really cumbersome process. |

It would actually make no difference when the damage mods are applied. I sort of overlooked that myself when I stated it the way I did in my original post.
1 mod 71.5 * 1.07 = 76.505 * 1.15 = 87.98075 * 1.2 = 105.5769 2 mods 71.5 * 1.1308 = 80.8522 * 1.15 = 92.98003 * 1.2 = 111.576036 3 mods 71.5 * 1.1804 = 84.3986 *1.15 = 97.05839 * 1.2 = 116.470068
Armor Damage
1 mod 71.5 * 1.07 = 76.505 * .8 = 61.204 2 mods 71.5 * 1.1308 = 80.8522 * .8 = 64.68176 3 mods 71.5 * 1.1804 = 84.3986 * .8 = 67.51888
Compared to the original calculation applying profile first
Shield Damage w/ Pro V
Prof V 71.5 * 1.15 = 82.225 No Mod (Profile Bonus) 82.225 * 1.2 = 98.67 1 mod 98.67 * 1.07 = 105.5769 2 mods 98.67 * 1.1308 = 111.576036 3 mods 98.67 * 1.1804 = 116.470068
Armor Damage
No Mod 71.5 * .80 = 57.2 1 mod 57.2 * 1.05 = 61.204 2 mods 57.2 * 1.1308 = 64.68176 3 mods 57.2 * 1.1804 = 67.51888 |
