Seeign as the state of the servers have left many (including myself) slightly disgruntled because they have active boosters ticking out, it caused a discussion between corp mates and myself about changes to active bosoters, how they work and cost.
Our idea is to have active boosters work when you're logging into the game, by that i mean sat idle in merc quarters, playing matches ect and stop when you quit out of the game.
now of course the changes to the boosters themselves would be to change them to 'active hours' instead of just straight 1, 3, 7, 30 days based on an average players daily play of 6hrs.
1 day - 6hrs
3 days - 20hrs
7 day - 50hrs
30 days - 220hrs
as you buy more you get an increase in average daily hours play but for 1 day you may spend 8hrs sleeping, 8hrs at work 6hrs gaming and then the last 2hrs spending time with family, eating and other pesky real life stuff that gets int he way.
with a standard booster if you activate it and something happens, internet cuts out, power outage, kids sick, gotta goto the store ect you lose that time, with the new system you're not so bound by gaming. if you plan for an evenings gaming and hit a booster, if somethign happens you simply log out the game and your time is paused ready to pickup where you left it off.
obviously for some th enew system may not pay off as well but by buying the bigger 220hr boosters it would be beneficial than simply buying 1 or 3 day boosters and grinding 10-12hrs a day to get the sp before it runs out.
just a thought but be interested in hearing opinions

I approve of this.
Rattati did say he wanted to help out the guys that don't play obsessively due to real life stuff.

yeah it kinda balances them out a little bit more. i understand there are people who have oppertunity to play the game for extended times and the smaller boosters may end up being a little less value for money but if they buy the bigger boosters they'd more than likely end up buying less boosters over the course of a year so saving money.
running the 30d/220hr figures the numbers may need tweaking so a 30d = 300hrs (10hrs a day) but i'm sure someone at CCP with more time to crunch the numbers than i do can work out the finer details lol

lol yeah its been pretty bad. reason why this discussion came about. just eases all the hate towards CCP when stuff liek this happens and players have boosters lol
