I have posted this before, however I have always added different ideas along with it that may have convoluted the conversation. So here it is.
For repair tools that have dual target functionality, have beam one set to only R1 and beam two set to L1, and the releasing of one or the other does not deactivate the other.
With this you will always be able to keep one target locked (unless the beam gets otherwise broken) while switching between other blue or green targets.

You have been asking for this forever, yet it is still not implemented. I see no reason why it shouldn't be developed other than maybe coding issues.

Been wanting this forever and i've seen a lot of threads about it.
Has a dev ever commented on this idea?

I may be a minority dissenting voice here. I absolutely agree that a way to turn off one beam without the other would be very helpful. However, I already get cramps in one hand holding R1 down all the time. I'd rather not HAVE to hold down both buttons to keep two beams going.
Maybe tapping L1 to toggle the second beam on or off?
FPS = First Person Support. Kills win battles but it's kinda hard to kill if you're dead and out of ammo.

To you Dubya Guy, I made another topic specifically about as a separate issue because each of the other two or three times I made a topic about this AND that combined I got hassled about it for some reason. Also as for your finger cramps, while you are holding the rep tool on hit select to open up the chat window, release the R1 and then hit select again the repair tool will stay on without having to hold the button. I never use that but there it is.
Z3dog, nope never had a dev comment on this, most likely because they think it is small enough problem, and they are right, but having been an archetypal medic logi since closed beta I can say that I would very much appreciate dual trigger and toggle for rep tools and has been something I have been asking for on the forums since I though of it.

i dislike your suggestion because you're assuming everyone uses the same controls. What is your suggestion for the praetorian controls setting?
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.

Nothing changes for them, they get to keep the same old mechanic they always have. Why stop improving anything if one controller set up is the only reason you can't? Also, how many people actually still use that set up and how many of them are logis? Something I would very much like to know. "You can't change your mechanics because 1% of 5% of the player base wouldn't be able to avail themselves of it."
So your restrictive set up would be left behind while the current (less restrictive) set up would actually get improve.
Edit: I am guessing 1% of 5% is being generous.

I suppose instead of saying "I don't like the idea it doesn't work with x." Why don't you, as the person using x, help me out and educate me on how it might be possible to update x with this idea that would be beneficial to repair tool users. Because you are the first and only person Ihave have seen that uses x.
X = praetorian set up
