the scrambler pistol is utter crap now the burst being the ammo glutton that it is needs about double or triple the reserve ammo it currently has the scrambler pistols overall need a fire rate buff of about 200-300 rpm to make them feasible again

Burst ScP needs a little buff for sure. Magsec SMG needs less kick. Breach forge gun needs its movement penalty removed.
They are the three things that spring to mind anyway.

The ScP's rate of fire doesn't match my finger's rythm, increase it maybe?

I like scrambler pistols. They were the first weapon I got to level five. The Breach scrambler pistol is the only one that I find is useful presently, though.
I do miss the way they were before update 1.8. They didn't even mention the lowered fire rate in the patch notes. That irked me, as I only used the Amarr Logistics suit for the Sidearm. Ah well.
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.

I miss the old Scrambler Pistols more than anything that has ever been in this game...
I just don't understand why Pistols need to be such utter crap compared to the SMGs. There isn't a single reason th use an Ion Pistol or Scrambler Pistol when Magsecs and SMGs are so much better...
Someone's gotta tell the stupids that their ideas are bad, and I guess it's my job...

The only bad thing I find about the Ion pistol is the range, otherwise I find it to be an acceptable and powerful sidearm for up close encounters, it certainly deals with scouts quickly too, usually before they can shotgun me. |

ion pistol can hit targets effectively at 30-35-40m respectively. (std-adv-pro ranges) more than enough to be blapping scouts/everything else. also ion pistol is better then the smgs GIVEN the situation your in. ion pistol is great at takeing out 1 guy. however the smgs fair better with multiple targets

Scrambler pistols are fine, I use them all the time. They can easily kill a suit in under a clip.

Wow. Looks like another thread that's becomeing derailed. Is this thread still about Scrambler Pistols?
I still own, and still value the Scrambler pistol---yes it was the first weapon I decided I HAD to have on my dream-dropsuit fitting, no matter what other sidearms are available. I look at the drawings of it, and it's like Harry's Magnum 44, but with artistic scrimshaw elegance. Maybe that's important in Dust---not only that there is diligence towards "balancing" (whatever that is, ugh!), but also that each race of weapons retain an "attitude" that makes it something desirable. IF this is all about "the most effective destroyer with highest rate of kill", then eventually EVERYONE will migrate toward a brute-dumb Mass Driver and SMG.
Minmatar weapons are (supposedly?) the youngest and most urgently needed on the battlefield, so it makes sense that they look the crudest, make the most antagonizing noise, and spray the most,... and THAT becomes the technology's identity.
Gallente and Caldari weapons have always been stuck in Hatfield-n-Macoy fixation with one another's counter-technology. At war with each other for so long that they're trapped in an even balance, each technology consatntly trying to be strong where the other is weak, looking to break the tie. ("If you get close enough your gun can completely slaughter me, but if I keep you far enough away my gun can completely slaughter you") It makes sense that they end up "different in every way, yet somehow a perfect counter to each other in combat". They are the most refined, most thorough-looking weaponry in the game, but always EQUALLY destructive to each other, and that's their twin identities.
Amar should be JUST AS destructive as any of the other three known competitors, but continue to have the most "Calmly-committed",... "Shaolin Peaceful",... "Jedi-harmony" destructive ruthlessness in the game. They are the only race who were able to build their weapon technology WITHOUT any counter adversaries (...slaves don't have a technolgy to fight you back with ), so it makes sense that they have the most "exotic technology". That, and the faith that they are "destined" to be the winners, makes it logical to have quiet Lasers that ethereally CREMATE by the truckload, Rifles that disassemble your body with much less noise and time than other races, and a Pistol that is calm and confident enough to fire a single slow round at a time,...BUT PUTS A MAGNUM HOLE IN YOU WIDE ENOUGH TO DRIVE CLINT EASTWOOD'S CAR THROUGH! Even if only for the sake or Racial identity, the Amar pistol NEEDS to be THE pistol sidearm in the game with the disturbingly highest HP damage in a standard single-round.
Universe of good wishes for the 49, especially CCP Eterne...

doesn't the bolt pistol fill that role the scrambler pistol used to be a fast as you can pull the trigger and now it is so slow and unresponsive I always liked the responsiveness of amar weapons that is what made them stand out

The Scrambler Pistol was actually the strongest weapon at one point. That's why its RoF was nerfed. Doesn't anyone remember?
The Assault Scrambler Pistol had mad high dps. Easily outperformed most light weapons. And the headshot bonus with that spray and pray made it damn near unbeatable.
It did more damage than any utility weapon per shot, and was able to shoot as fast as you could press it.
Thankfully, most folks never noticed it, but it was quite op before.
Set your goals high, and shoot for the moon; even if you miss you'll land amongst the stars.

AS soon as you used the term "ethereally cremate"..... you made me instantly think of 40k's Witch Hunters Inferno Pistol.
