Sometimes we choose our own paths other times faith does it for us...
Two Gallente agents sit in a restaurant on an Intaki settlement. They sit far away from the rest of the people in a dark corner. "Who are we going to find to be the eighth clone?", asked the light skinned one with the beard. "Well Connor, we tried our best to find someone to recruit and failed. That's what happened and that is what we will report the the council", the Mohawked dark skinned man proclaimed. "They're not going to like it Jacque", Connor said. They drank their tea, gave a generous tip to the waitress who gave them a courteous bow.
After putting on their coats they noticed how silent the restaurant had become even for an Intaki run business. They slowly walked towards the front of the cafe where patrons were crowding aroubd the front windows making the restaurant earily dark. No one said a word. Jacque stepped forward and knocked on the wall. He was quickly assaulted by the piercing glares of those there. Something was wrong he could sense it. A bald man with pale skin noticed them while standing behind the tea bar and beckoned them into a secluded hallway.
"You men are not from here are you?" the bald man said. "No, we are on a business trip here" Jacque said, "Would you mind explaining what is happening here, sir?" "Of course, my name is Yubon Lanner, I'm the restaurant owner. Those men you saw out there looking through the windows... They are very tense, everyone is." Jacque pressed, "why?". "Pirates." This peaked Connor's attention, he had been peaking his head from the hallway keeping an eye on the window crowders, but the conversation had finally peaked his interest. "Is this settlement being looted?", Connor questioned. "No." Mr. Lanner calmly said. "We are being extorted". Jacque and Connor shared a look. "There is a Federal out post just a few miles from here. They could have thousands of troops here in a matter of minutes. They should be called.", Jacque started for his headset in his coat pocket when Mr. Lanner stopped him. "They will not do stop them. They never have. Whether because of inefficiency or treachery they have never helped us against our enemies." "How long has this been going on?", Connor asked. "Almost as long as the settlement has been here." Connor lost his level headidnes "Mr. Lenner, I'm calling the nearest off world Federal marines ship to get here immediately", he said while putting on his head set which proclaimed a small hologram projector from his left ear which only he and someone standing closely behind him could see. "No signal. They must be jamming signals around here. Mr. Lanner." Connor gave him a reassuring head nod and began walking out of the hallway to the crowded windows. Jacque began to walk after Connor and call him back when Mr. Lanner interrupted him, "Who are you." "Us? We are those who are willing to do what others are not.". He chased after Connor.

"Where are you going Connor?" Jacque said. "We are going to go fix the problem," Connor proclaimed while continuing to the window. Jacque stopped and by proxy made Connor stop and turn. Jacque gave him a look to test his resolve. Connor's eyes held steady and he continued walking to the windows.
The bearded agent politely moved his way to the door and opened it, which made everyone around the windows suddenly back away and hug the walls. Connor looked around the room, raised his eyebrow at a steady Jacque and walked into the blazing late summer heat.
He walked with a non chalant gait to the center of the village which had seemingly been abandoned except for a small group of people facing each other. Some older men in light shades and some rough looking characters standing around a clearly defined negotiation line. As he approached them they turned to him. The elders faces betrayed their surprise, while most of the brutes looked aggravated by his presence. Though, the head pirate looked at him with a bemused look. "I take it you are new here.", the rogue called out in a voice that was far too polite to belong to him. Connor looked downward and gave an ironic smile before looking into the eyes of the rogue. "You could say that, and you would be correct." The rogue grabbed his chin and grabbed the shoulder of the man yo the right of him who looked ready to charge Corner with a large sickly looking knife. "It is impolite to intrude into private business matters. Others may seek to punish you, though, I am a fair man.", he tipped his Minmatar esque hat at the brim. "I won't kill you for your boldness nor enslave you for your affront. No, I even promise to not raid your house nor steal your ship or assets for the next hour if you leave right now.". "It's a tempting offer really, but I didn't come here to leave so soon." He slowly walked between the elders and Pirates. He quickly made a quick look to the elders and looked at the elder building. He wanted them to leave as soon as possible and he could tell by their faces that at least a few got the hint. Connor then looked back to the rogue as the elders slowly crept back. "You do not know who I am.", said the captain whos smile had been replaced by an annoyed expression. "If you did you would not be so fast to disregard my kindness." Connor looked at the ground, standing tangent to the circle of Pirates with his right side facing away from them. "You do not know who I am or else you would not threaten me.". He opened the left side of his coat while swiftly using the motion to hide a small dark brown tubular object under his right sleeve. On his left hip he had a Federal seal.

Time is necessary for all plans...
He instantly felt the humid summer air become dry and cool as the wind pulled a large cloud over the blazing sun. A storm was coming. Connor raised his head and squinted into a valley.
This part of the settlement was on a leaning cliff. He could see the rays of the sun going through the clouds and making prisms that could be seen from the side. It was a view that almost made him forget where he was and what he was doing. Yet, he still felt the air grow thick as the pirates became tense at the sight of his seal. The Captain spoke, "You are foolish to intervene in things you are not part of. The. Federation could prosper so much better if they let entrepreneurs such as myself conduct business without government oversight.", the Captain gave a crooked smile. Connor tilted his head down and matched his smile. Connor slowly walked counter clockwise around the group as he spoke. Keeping his right hand down he dropped pebble sized grey spheres with blue centers that became red on contact with the ground. "The Federation's business is protecting the people. As a Federal representative I am invoked the task of maintaing peace, order, and full fill justice.". He stopped walking at the same place he had started his gait. "Noble.", the head rogue walked behind one of his men and took out his henchmen's blaster pistol. "You will be remembered as the latest hero of the Federation who failed in spite of his efforts," he pointed the gun at Connor, "You are not the first Federal agent I, privateer Ceaner Mulann, have martyred and I doubt you will be the last... Take a breath, it will be your last. Goodbye agent." Connor smiled and turned his head. "Goodbye". He clicked a button on the tube in his right sleeve. It was a track stopper, it dropped little flux disruptors that not only released a blinding flash and violent boom, but also an EMP effect. They were normally used for ambushes in close quarters though were relatively uncommon given that they were barely above prototype status.
On activation everything lost sound and all the pirates were blinded. Mulann tried to fire the blaster but the EMP had done its job. Connor's headset had protected his ears and his hearing returned after only a few seconds and he had looked away just in time.
Connor now looked back and took out a blade from his inner coat, the plasma blade would not work now but he kept its edge sharp fot a reason. He walked at a quick pace and stabbed a pirate who was hunching over. He proceeded to leap up and slice another pirate across his face. Connor turned to a stumbling pirate and stabbed his chest as he fell. There were only seven pirates, Connor thought, only four left.
End of part two.
