thats aprox $800 a month worth of salvage on the table escalating and building month after month till the point where everyone has hundreds of thousands of these things.
eventually its going to build up to such exteme levels that KEYS will have zero value as once the boxes buiuld up there is zero incentive to buy keys to unlock all 200,000 of the boxes youve obtainned removing the main component on why those kinnds of "box and key" transactions that are popular in F2P.
too many keys and not enough boxes devalues the entire set as one of the primary motivators to purchase half of the pair is a rarity in BOTH sides.
CCP if you want this box and key thing to work both boxes and keys have to be rare, as such an extreme overabundance of boxes is going to negate the value of the keys to nothing.
nothing higher than a 5/1 ratio can work, a 50/1 ratio is absolutly insane and its the same as reducing the value of keys vs the 5/1 to 5% if their potential percieved value

the keys currently have a percieved value of aproximatly 40-80 AUR each
this was calculated based on average drop rates and statistics showing what an average PAYING F2P player is likely to spend on a F2P game in a single month

iim going to recieve 23 of them from missions alone today, and with their salvage drop rates as they are im set to get somewhere around 50 by the time im done completing JUST my missions
thats brings my 10 day average to about 300... and im not that active

Suggestion 1:
Put keys in some of the boxes. I would feel a lot better about buying a decryption key if there was a chance that I might find 5 more keys in the box I open with it.
Suggestion 2:
Make strongboxes deploy-able in battle for cover. Strongbox forts for everyone! 
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

The only thing I'd want from a rare strongbox would be a BPO or maybe 100 Thales.

You're getting different missions than me I guess. Last night between missions and playing about 20 matches, I received maybe a dozen boxes.

They should add an aurum item that allows to view the content of the boxes prior to them being opened. Make it cost the same as the market agent.
As it stands, I don't want to buy keys on the slim chance that I may get something I can/want to use. |

I have not salvaged a single key, and I have almost 300 boxes now.
Sometimes, one just has an overwhelming urge to throw a potato at someone.
