I'm really frustrated by the matches I've been playing- every single match that I've played has been a red line or people have not been pushing, the gameplay has gotten incredibly slow and it feels like I've spent most of my matches wandering around wasting ammo.
Now I'm not one to make broad generalizations... Let alone make forum posts about those aforementioned generalizations, but here goes...
I enjoyed the gameplay before 1.10 way more...
It was more action packed, I was totally okay with bashing my head against protostompers in a standard assault suit and I'd definitely prefer it to what we have now... Hell, even getting red lined before was funner...
So what gives? What changed? Does Mu need to adjust matching players up for the recent monumental shakes in the meta? Is it the bandwidth thing? Should we have less bandwidth penalties on lower tier uplinks?
Or am I the only one getting slow battles? |

It is not just 1.10 but a progression of changes that encourage squad play and discourages solo play. If you get two squads playing against each other there usually is a fun game. Scans, BW, vehicle changes, and lots of other change limit the impact one player can make and blueberries rapidly get gunshy and lose spirit when the outcome of a match can be determined in the first minute. See that uplink that just popped up? You can spawn in and try to establish a beachhead or you can figure it is being camped. If you are against a squad which would you do?
Personally, 1.10 has forced me to squad up and I am usually on the stomping side now. Many games end up with the other team cloned out and we have more than 75% of ours left. My stats are improving but my enjoyment has diminished. Maybe the meta level tiering will solve this, but cinsidering how many assholes farm academy I am not optimistic.
Because, that's why.

Current odds of Stomp vs Fair Fight are about 50/50. For me, at least, over the past few days. Skirm seems to have slightly better odds of a good fight than Ambush. |

Let me clarify, I'm not frustrated that I'm being stomped or redlined, I'm frustrated because I feel like I can't find as many enemies to fight as I did before. Even when I'm being red lined, it's not as fun as it was before. It's been this way and two close friends agreed with me when 1.10 was released. Everything else about 1.10 has been good, but this has changed Dust for the worse in my opinion.
I rarely play in full squads, I play with maybe 3 people at the most. Today it was just me and another friend and we weren't up against squads at all. The maps feel empty, it feels like I have to wander around to find stray enemies.
I pretty much only play Domination personally and I kept leaving matches hoping I'd get the Gallente Research Facility and even when I did, it was pretty underwhelming.
I'm just curious if anybody else is thinking this and maybe has ideas on fixes or observations?
Maybe capacitors on repair tools? Let people lay more than 1 standard tier uplink? I don't know... |
