Since 1.10 was released, there is a glaring paucity of Scout derision whining complaining caterwauling grousing and kvetching.
What is one to make of this?
Are you not dying to Scouts anymore?
I still see a fair number in the burn zone. Honestly, I see the same number I always have.
I still die sometimes to scouts. Shotguns, Nova Knives etc.
I still run my Gal Scout some, shotgunning tourists in the back with abandon.
So where are the Scout threads? Page 1 of GD pre1.10 used to consistently have multiple Scout threads crying bloody murder every single day.
Is Scouting dead? Is it just right? Does you feel so dirty from all the complaining you can't in good conscience do it anymore with all the Scout and Scout related nerfs?
Where is the Scout QQ? Anyone else notice this?
Discuss, and send me some of that sweet clean ISK for raising this insightful question.

i feel that it's not dead but slowly falling in line especially with the AR buff (callscrubkiller) one thing i love is how this game evolves, never have i played a game like dust or think that i will. people even came back after destiny, a next gen system to play again. dust is special so lets give it time and we will see where the scout falls P.S the logi should be the only fit with two equipment slots (not that i really care).

I have held off judgement until things settle in more. Strafing scouts and hit detection still sucks just not as bad. |

With the Recent Ewar changes, scouts are no longer 'the absolute best at everything with no effort required'. I still think they need to be a tiny tiny itst bitsy less proficient at killing, but they are a lot better now.
Suit balance is near. Now we just need to give Commandos a true role, and buff logis a bit so they can perform better at theirs.
Please, make my Opus pretty...

Scouts will probably just get better at there role. Seriously get over the killing ability. Bricked scouts are dead scouts cause of scans as
they should be. Bout time for the end of briced but still do everything without the sacrifice scouts.

I can't figure out what's wrong with them on either end. When I die on my knife scout I know it's because someone saw me and shot me. Min scouts aren't even great at dampening and I never see someone turn around before I stick a knife in them.
On the flip side, I only get the occasional OHKO blap from behind and for the most part I just use situational awareness as usual to stop them from blapping me all the time. I have a Cal Assault stacked with precision enhancers that can see what I'd presume are undampened scouts (As my precision is literally right where an undampened light suit would be.) I don't PC though and I hear that means I don't know anything about balance so what do I know? |

Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

With recent nerfs, Scouts are no longer able to tank like an Assault with awesomely more effective EWar. That means that they no longer know exactly what way you're facing at all times meaning they run into people headfirst more when incautious, making them less powerful and giving the target more opportunity to leverage their EHP advantage.
Which is how it should be. There still are, and always will be, Scouts who actually know how to sneak and will jump you, but it's back to being about skill and not SP and base stats.

Scouts need some skill. Now the issue is Skill less Sentinels with HMG.
IF you perceive 2 things to be broken, but one takes skill and the other one doesnt then you whine about what its more EZ mode.
So now all threads are for Sentinels and Strongboxes. XD

I'm still running both Amarr and Cal scouts most of the time with the occasional heavy/hmg or AV fits as the round calls for them.
Gameplay has evolved, but I don't find it really that much harder, but I do find myself losing more 1:1 against an ever increasing number of assault suits. |

Properly damped shotgun scouts are still by far the most dangerous thing in the game.
However pub use has died down quite a bit because people are butthurt about recent changes, and my PC corp merged with Red Star and I didnt merge with them so I dont have to deal with the try hard scout spam in PC, so I personally dont care as much.
Nothing has really changed though, the scanning changes arent enough to save you from a shotgun scout (maybe if they un-nerf scout scan ranges that would change) and the cloak nerf to switching back to weapon has just made scouts wait slightly longer before 2 shotting someone in the back. The removal of directional markers helps a little, but not nearly enough since a scout can just leave and re-engage if they come around the corner and you are facing toward them.
There is still no real mechanics based counter to the shotgun/cloak/damp scout and the only thing you can do is try to have the bullshit 360 degree hyper awareness that never works in practice against any scout that knows what they are doing.
tl;dr: scanning still doesnt work against scouts, scouts with scan immunity and shotguns still OP |

Lol you guys - do you really still need to get on your high horses about a bandwagon that god knows how many of you jumped on when the 1.8 dropsuit command respec hit us? Only reason there's still this many scouts around is coz there was no further respec.
SP is flying around now and it's much quicker to get into a new suit - you luddites have been dragging us down for **** knows how long now - looks like a light at the end of the tunnel.
Go back to your AR-514 pre-1.8 builds and enjoy my knife in your back once in a while. As you lie on the floor spamming your controller button to get back into the fight, enjoy the thought that I had nothing in my two equipment slots and 1/3 your HP :-p

That's coz they *were* stealthy. Just player skill made it that way instead of built-in electronics.
