So you'd deny all the innocent scam artists their right to exercise their freedom?.
You disgust me.

pretty f'n simple to me
I see no room for scamming here so you have it all wrong.
That is unless merc x can quickly cancel the order and remove their items and then quickly accept right?.
What if merc x could just shoot the merc that is trading with them?.

What about a merc who holds both trading mercs goods in escrow until they accept the trade like.
Wouldn't that be fair?. Then neither merc 1 or 2 can scam eachother and everyone is happy.

OR maybe the contract system.
Player 1 selects character and hits create contract then selects the items and isk price. Player 2 receives mail and has the option to accept contract. Contract options include isk given, isk received, items given, and items received so that the person on either side of the deal can create the contract.
The station trade option would be far better in the long run. I am only curious on the mechanics of any of this since we are mostly in different stations and nothing on tranquility is built for cross station trades and item inventory being teleported from station to station. It seems that no matter what the Eve team is going to have to get involved which worries me on the time frame. This is just another reason I always felt like Dust should have been on a separate server with simple API interactions to handle the links between the two. Running two games on two different platforms from the same base server cluster was a bit over ambitious to say the least.
Yeah and it'd be pretty fked up if i couldn't follow them out of the station and rob them after at least.

You could still scam stupid people that will buy your stuffs through this system.
There's nothing proud or cool about it, it's just funny.
This isn't real life.

Kallas Hallytyr wrote:Um, scamming is something entirely different to what some of the people in this thread seem to think it is. Scamming is not trading and then switching it at the last moment, that's simply theft; scamming is convincing someone that the item they are selling is worth far more than it's actually worth; or convincing them to trust them to take the money and give them the item later.
Scamming is entirely possible with the trade window notion, you just seem to have a dumb idea of what scamming is. Scamming actually takes a mild amount of skill at its base level. Look at Con Artists; they don't sell you something worth a damn then take it away, they trick you into thinking they have something valuable that you want.
Right because two people agreeing on a trade and then one person running off with it all isn't a scam........
You're saying that a scam isn't a scam, a scam is an elaborate scam.
You get 10 Obamas.

How I see trades working: 1 and 2 are players -1 ask for trade -2 comfirm -1 and 2 both put a price/item/whatever in the trade window -1 and 2 accept the deal. -end of the trade.
I do believe you posted in general discussion so we are discussing.
