I used to work with GM Hercules, Kiriap and Murasaki, Spanish GMs/Forum moderators, who are - sadly - not with us any more. This all went down around the time 1.8 was deployed:
To ensure parity with EVE Online support, customer support for DUST 514 will now only be offered in the following languages: English, Russian, Japanese, and German.
So many good guys are gone now...GM Unicorn and Charlie /Italian support/, GM Avantgarde and Bambi /Japanese Support/, GM Rhino /German support/, GM Muza and Koshka /Russian support/ and many more, gone.

@Vell0cet I think Spain is obvious, why not name. @GM Archduke Thanks, that was just me being unfair to a major Spanish language. |

Sometimes I wonder how stupid this community is.
Then forums like this crop up and I don't have to wonder anymore.
New Eden has HUGE euro-centric populations, so of course their languages get used in official communique. followed by american and east asian/poly-stralia.
The spanish-speaking population is currently burgeoning with DUSTs growing popularity in those respective countries, but far and large, the player base comes from the english/french/german/russian communities.
Oh, and to debate the stupid point of languages in the world spoken blah blah crap talked about earlier, heres this, research done by MIT. Most Influencial Languages Its interactive so play with it a bit.
Fack it, might as well board the hype-train again. At least there's tracks this time.

Just to be nit-picky, German is not only used in one country. You should at least mention Germany and Austria but also widely used in Hungary and Poland, and possibly other countries close by....

Yeah, 'used' might be the wrong word for Poland. A lot of Polish people know, and speak German, but it's not like it'd be in everyday use or anything. It is however definitely used in Hungary and Austria

Never said it wasn't. But I did mention the reason behind not having Spanish support right now.

Step 1: Spanish speaking people need to buy enough AUR to pay the salary of a GM.
Step 2: Spanish speaking people then need to point out to CCP that they buy enough AUR to pay the salary of a GM and demand that they get a Spanish speaking GM.

mostly in the US there is more money, the economy is good compared to other countries and it is true. I just pedia least information updates and events (some order in the forums that do not have a moderator) there are people (mercenaries of the game) taking the time to translate what sometimes is posted here are taken. to me personally that bothers me a bit, not if you GMs, CCPs could put a mercenary with the power of BAN and provide data to the forum (in the Spanish case) and without paying money but simply giving isk, SP or anything of the game. (my english is bad, I hope you understand) |

Actually, the ISD program might fix the problem of Spanish Language forum moderation, as well as moderation on the other forums.
Basically in EVE the ISD program consists of players who have been given moderation rights on the forum and volunteer their time to moderate and perform other tasks. Here is a link to a thread about seminars to train ISD.
If the ISD program was brought to DUST, it might solve some of the problems relating to staff shortages on the forums.

GM's aren't as active anymore. The dev base is in China therefor Asian languages are more important by default. For dust anyways.
