ffs, at least make the key to box ratio 1 to 10 - not 1 to 1000
I'm going to have so many boxes I might make my own minecraft world out of them.

I'd rather have anything other than a strongbox.
It is yet another disgusting marketing ploy to fleece the player base.
I calculated that if I were to open every lockbox with a 10 in 1 discount, that I would still spend approximately $90 USD per month.

I would pay isk to remove the boxes just so I do not have the freaking orange bubble.
Could care less about keys versus boxes as I have written them off as all useless. |

I second this. Getting a strongbox should be something exciting, not just "no, another one" |

The amount of boxes we get would make sense if keys were like 100 Aurum and the idea was to have pure bulk. Asking for a reduction in the amount of boxes is kind of pointless though. They don't hurt you getting them. Yes, it is annoying when you do the calculation of the amount of money you would have to spend to open all the bastards but having 1,000 of them does no harm.
That being said, I am surprised that boxes drop so damn much with keys that are so expensive. TF2 has boxes that drop fairly often but not 30+ in a day's worth of play. The idea is to make them less common so people feel the need to buy keys because "oh, this box might be a good one!" Though, TF2 also gives items that last forever or at least don't disappear when you die so maybe the idea of DUST strongboxes would never work. Maybe if they got a SERIOUS price reduction?

I agree. Either the price per key needs to be significantly reduced, or the quality of salvage within each box must be improved. As of now that 800 Aurum is much better spent on gear that you purchase yourself. That way you know it's actually going to be useable based off of your SP allocations. At least half of the loot players have reported finding so far doesn't equal or barely equals the value of that 800 Aurum in the first place. So far strongboxes are a lot like APEX suits, a cool idea that's simply not work what it costs.

yeah up key availability and even drop the box drop rate. i'm close to 250-300 n about 3 keys given out
the key (excuse the pun) of premium 'suprise' box type items in f2p models is to provide enough to encourage players to buy more because they get nice godies from it. as it stands the boxes are becomng nothing more than an annoyance, if we got 1 key for every 5 boxes we can cut down on a few boxes as wel as gettign some goodies from them, it also increases the amount of times players receive decent item (as more keys widely available) which via word of mouth encourages players to buy more keys.
the contents also shoudl be limited. remove dropsuit modules fromt he table limit it to ADV/PRO/OFF weapons, dropsuits as well as boosters, isk and SP. many players i speak to feel cheated when they get 40 precision enhancers or 50 shield energizers. a player in one of the channels i have opened 40 boxes the other night and was extrwemely disappointed and got a lot of low end items, the only things of note was 1 x Krin SIN and 4 Agimus' MD
at least with higher meta level weapons and suits players would feel a little more rewarded.
