I was wondering if changing the bonus Assault have from Light/Sidearm - CPU/PG to HIGH/LOW Slot Modules - CPU/PG reduction instead. It would help with the Assaults Jack of all trades idea, maybe.

Any opinions that you type down will allow others to take an interest in this thread and hopefully create a conversation on the Assault Bonus.

I've never considered Assaults to be a "Jack of All Trades" suit, it's an assaulting suit made for attacking. I think the bonuses to the PG/CPU cost of weapons fits this role perfectly. Its flexible, sure, but that just means it should be flexible within its assaulting role.

I haven't had a chance to check but don't the Assault suits have the most high and low slots (proto) so they would benefit from the proposed change? Don't get me wrong I agree with what you typed.

Well yes they would likely gain a larger benefit from that, but in the end the effect is increasing the effective PG/CPU via reduction of weapon/module cost. If your intention is to increase the effective PG/CPU, I'd rather increase the strength of the existing weapon bonus rather than move it onto the modules.

I agree with Pokey. And personally, the Assault Role bonus is more flexible, for example: I run an AScR on my MinAslt, partly because the reduction of the CPU/PG lets me fit such a high fitting weapon on to my suit, even though my suit is supposed to have the very low fitting CR on.

Mhmm and that's a good example of being flexible within the Assault role, rather than being flexible in general. So the current bonus is working as intended imho.
