Coming back after a long break from the game..i was researching builds and a skill called Field Mechanics was being mentioned alot . However i can not find it in game. Was the skill tree revamped since i last played? |

I've never seen that in about a year of playing so you must have been gone a while. I assume it was on the vehicle skill tree which I believe got totally overhauled just before I started.

Wow. When was this? It might have been even before my time...
Do you remember what the skill unlocked to use? Or was there a bonus it gave?

Not sure... It is listed on any of the medic builds though...

I can't entirely remember what it did but I'm almost 100% sure it was one from WAY back in closed so yeah it's gone.

If I remember correctly, it was a combined skill for dropsuit and vehicle armour.
I am part shovel, part man, full scout, and a little bit special.

Ah wow. Actually, I should remember that, but I guess with the changes to the skill trees, I already forgot some of the old names.
Looking at that link, post 6 helped me refresh my memory a bit. Field Mechanics was the old name for today's Armor Upgrades skill with the same exact passive bonus. The Shield Upgrade skill was also named something different but again, I can't remember it.
The skill tree was revamped during Uprising 1.0 I believe, and I remember collecting dozens of screenshots after someone came up with the bright idea of getting some screenshots and data from Singularity (or SiSi). I went and did the same and posted as much info as I could. I'll try and look for that Imgur album if you are interested.
