Grenades increase in damage and blast radius as they progress in teirs, I think it would make sense to either have them all stay the same radius and only increase in damage, or have them be the same damage and only increase in radius.
Of course, I would prefer to have them all be the same radius and only have the damage increase, as having them all be the same damage would be boring. |

I want a Locust variant similar to the Fire cracker from EDF 2025. when thrown splits in multiple weak locusts with low splash and damage. std-4 adv-6 proto-8 The higher its thrown the bigger the spread!

Greetings, Banjo! What you're describing in your suggestion to improve the grenade design, ALREADY EXISTS in the difference between regular grenades and SLEEK-variant grenades. The idea with sleek versus regular is that, as they progress in tiers, you have your choice of "a grenade with increased damage at unincreased radius", or "a grenade with increased damage with little or zero radius increase".
If higher tiers give you "a grenade with higher damage" or solely "a grenade with increased radius", the opportunity to pick a weapon that better suits your personal fighting style is lost. Some players use a grenade to singularly assassinate an opponent---they require the highest damage, and have practiced how to toss with pinpoint accuracy. Some players (like myself) use a grenade solely for dispersing a crowd of opponents--we only want to weaken their moral and ehp enough for them to open a hole for my fellow mercs to shove their way into. Being able to pinpoint-kill only one of the oppenents is less valuable to us than frightening and sweeping back the whole enemy bunch. The current grenade variety offers different benefits to different grenade-throwers, IF the grenade players become more deeply interested and/or talented with pineapples.
