I just entered a game of dom in pub match, and found 7-8 of the players on my team messing around behind the redline, just running in circles and shooting each other.
People like this ruin the game! Why is it allowed to happen? Any other game server would kick them for this, so why are they allowed to ruin everyone else's fun on this? Half a team against an entire enemy team is nothing more than an isk drain.
Something seriously needs doing about this, as well boosters and afk'ers. The tacnet inactivity timer isn't working anymore, clearly. Maybe the activity parameters should be widened. Running in circles does not count as "Activity" in my book. |

They need to add a minimum WP cap to reach per battle. I'd go for 200 in Dom/Skirm, and 100 for AMB.
If you dont reach this cap, you earn 0 ISK, 0 SP.

200's too low. You just throw uplinks and continue to act like a tool. It's 25wp for a team spawn, so 8 isn't too much of a stretch. Maybe if they don't get a kill/assist or a hack in a certain time parameter, they get ejected. |

No, if you wanna race, play a racing game. Those of us on the team actually bothering to be of any use are losing isk because of this stupidity. We're not there to make you money, or for your amusement, we're there to play a game. We're also losing sp because we can never get any kills. 8 on 1 isn't fun in any way.
Simple solution is, if you don't want to play Dust properly, then get the hell off it and play something else. |

I completely agree with you that 200 would be low , but some scrubs in this forum will say that a higher cap would break new player's experience just to keep on AFKing battles.
At least throwing uplinks is useful. Some players aren't killers, so the kill/assist thing isn't right.. Nor the hack, heavies are likely to never hack anything so it wouldn't be fair

People must deserve their ISK. I'm pissed of getting only 250k isk after a 15min battle which costs me 600k because half of my team was AFK or useless scrubs.

This is actualy good idea. But only if there would be warning message + time counter.
To OP. Right now we can do nothing about this. If you don't have/wanna lose isks, then run something cheaper and don't take few vs one fights. Unless you have isks, and you don't mind to lose 1-2m isks in domination [isks makes us more aggressive]. And by doing this, you can play for few actualy.

If a reporting system were implemented, add a new tier of radial dial commands (R2 button, then R3) with a Report option. Let the community police itself.
Aim a the player and report them just like throwing a squad command.
When a player is reported by x separate players, then ban them for 24 hrs.
When a player is reported y separate players, then ban them for 48 hrs.
When a player is reported z separate players, then ban them for 1 week.
etc.
This system could be abused:
1. Shunning an individual from the community 2. Shunnin a specific profile of player from the community a. Fighting back against FW saboteurs b. Getting all snipers banned from the game c. Etc.
This could turn into a huge ban war.
If a reporting system may not be the best option, how would you recommend to solve the problem of AFKers?

CCP can track self-harm: this is evidenced by the fact that self-inflicted damage being repped does not reward WP. With that in mind, we should implement the following:
If someone gets 0 kills; 0 deaths (not considering suicides as a death); 0 assists; and/or 0 war points, the character gets 0 ISK and 0 SP for the battle.
While that isn't perfect, it would mean that the AFKer has to do something to influence the battle. Perhaps the requisites could include partitioning the battle into time: so the battle is divided by four and each segment has the same qualifications, and you are only rewarded for your participation in each segment when you meet the requirements.
So, if someone wanted to AFK, hacked the homebase or an installation nearby before going off to spin in the redline, they'd only receive payment/SP for the first 1/4 of the battle, since in the second, third and fourth segments would check their qualifications and find them lacking.
Some food for thought.

What the OP describes might not be "AFK". If it was, it was very active AFK. As others stated, these could be noobs practicing or more experienced folks just blowing off steam and horsing around. The former could be improved by more training opportunities, or awareness of training corps. The latter I predict will happen more and more with the proliferation of free fittings.
I think scaling the ISK and SP payouts to severely nerf the low WP end would be the best way to reduce all-battle-long screwing around. But it won't prevent folks from giving up half way through what seems to be a lost battle. It could also harm those noobs who are actually trying but just stink.
So, more training opportunities + a different scaling for ISK and SP in Pub matches. My vote.
FPS = First Person Support. Kills win battles but it's kinda hard to kill if you're dead and out of ammo.

CCP has already changed the payment structure to reduce this happening and like this is a F2P game , people will do what they want and only CCP can do so much .
To ban people seem a bit drastic .
People have liberty and rights to do what they choose and while I'm not condoning AFKing , it's only so much that can be done and CCP has already placed the mechanic that will no longer give out ISK's or SP if your WP's are needing , so you basically get what you earn now instead of reaping a bonus because the team you were on won .
You just got placed in a match with people who prob normally do this until they get what will cause them to cease .
They are having a harder time and with that , they will realize that they can no longer sit around and watch someone else do the " heavy lifting " , while they sit back and " count the money and SP's " .
CCP did a great job with that because they paid attention to post like this one and others and could do what they could to stem the tide .
Just do what YOU can and everything else will fall into place .
Doubts are like flies and should be treated as such and crushed .

Running in circles does not count as "Activity" in my book. Some players still care about their precious KDR, and will hide until the end of the game instead of trying to play. You think that if ISK were an issue then they could use blueprints, These are probably the same players who use proto suits against new mercs to make themselves feel special. The Downward spiral continues (free fall is more like it), try to have fun with what little time is left. |

As for the AFK system...yeah, too many factors involved. We can't be kicking people whose roles are not especially WP-centric.
