Not a single person on my team got more than 3 kills, most had 12-17 deaths. Kept running into couple guys and unload half a mag into him and he disappears and reappears 5 feet over and im insta dead by a BAR. I use those too and I don't ever insta kill people. Whole damn game. Then there's this dude that has no name, no chevron, no indication of who he is or what team he's on sucking up all the other kills. I put a whole mag into him and only the little red x hit mark. No damage nothing, but me dying.
ADS would rubberband across the sky and move erratically, vehicles doing the same thing. Everything was moving around like it was on ice like someone was hitting a lag switch and time kept trying to catch back up to itself
2 names in question are ICY UNVME and I assume dude w no name or health that had some sort of god mode was Sotyrios Gallente.
Now that was either the glitchiest game ever and these dudes are straight and I'm just crazy. That is possible, but that game felt kinda fishy. Either that or those dudes need to buy some better internet cause their junky connections messing everyone up.

Lag switches dont work on a server-side client. You have to be hosting the game to lag switch. I just laugh whenever I hear people bit'h about lag switches on coms. It is impossible to use in dust.
The issue is low player count. People in america are being thrown in with asians/euros and vice versa. Some games you are one on the receieving end, and other times they are.
Edit : fixed typos
I only play dust514ums now. It was always more fun than the actual game anyways.

to my understanding there is something called lag compensation which deals with the amount of time it takes your actions (your packets from your internet) to reach the server and to everyone elses screen...
how it works;
1: your on a laggy connection lets say, it takes 1.00 second for the packets of information to reach the server 2: your enemy is on a not so laggy connection which takes 0.50 seconds for his packets to read the server..
the game would be running at the .50 second rate except for the fact that your character would be rubber banding because you have the slower connection in other words every .50 seconds your characters new position would update in game and lets say you were strafing left at the .5 interval but then started strafing right they would see you going left then at the 1.5 interval it would show you moving to the right and you would rubber band across the screen to your new location.
this is as simplified as I can explain this...
its not due to a lag switch per say, its due to lag compensation from slower and faster connections aswell as the location in the world where you are playing opposed to your opponent
^^ also the connection speeds are ALOT faster than .5 second intervals =p if it were that slow it would be a slide show in game..
although I do hear about people that hook their PS3 into their router then after they get in game they start a big download on their computer which slows their internet speed down dramatically and the thing about this is so that they can artificially create that lag. (the reason they wait to get in game to do it is because scotty wouldn't have let them in game if they had the slow connection prior but after your in game your in game there are no checks for the speed to boot slower players) |

As above. Lag Switching is impossible in Dust 514.
Higher Latency (e.g. Oceanic players playing on European Server), is normally the culprit, though players may have a slow Upload/Download too.
If I run on my Mobile Hotspot on 4G I never encounter lag for myself outside of PC (which is a different topic entirely), but if I use my Mobile Hotspot on 3G I lag horrendously.
The Upload/Download on 4G is very similar to most Wifi connections, 3-7mb/s Up, 15-30mb/s Down. On 3G its pitiful, which is 0.1-0.5mb/s Up, 0.05-0.3mb/s Down. People with trash Wireless Routers can encounter this too.
TL;DR - High Latency, Poor Upload/Download, Bad Network Environment, are the most likely causes of lag, excluding FW/PC.

I wonder aloud if the players you went up against were located a along way away from the server they were playing in.
When I experience the effect you describe, it's typically from a player from Europe or Asia playing on the America servers. |

If you say so, that was the first wtf is going on game I ever had in several months of playing. Just odd game i guess. Those two lucky bastards benefited real well to lag i guess.
So your telling me if I search for games on asian server I'll be able to run around invincible too?
Internet speed is 50/20, and have never had a match like that til now. Maybe I should downgrade. |

To lag switch, first you must call a guy in Japan that plays this game and knows programming. You can usually find one by mailing Nyain San. They could hook you up.
Then you need to coordinate with a latino corp. any latino corp will do.
Next, que sync with both Nyain San and a latino corp, follow their directions on exploiting any and all mechanics, glitches and spams.
Rinse and repeat.
