The first reason behind this is for the high PG cost of complex shield extenders, RR and ARR, mandatory for Caldari Assaults.
The second reason is that the Caldari Assault (at maxed core skills) has a CPU of 527 and a PG 80: You might think that the CPU/PG ratio is fine because CPU is best for shields but the problem comes when you compare it to those of the other assault suits.
Let's compare Caldari assault CPU and PG with those of the other assault suits (numbers are for CCP)
Caldari Assault CPU | PG 527 | 80
Gallente Assault 499 | 92 the caldari assault compared to the amarr assault gets +28 CPU at the cost of 12 PG = +5.5% CPU | -15% PG
Amarr Assault 484 | 97 the caldari assault compared to the amarr assault gets +42 CPU at the cost of 17 PG = +8% CPU | -21.3% PG
Minmatar Assault 515 - 85
the caldari assault compared to the minmatar assault gets+11 CPU at the cost of 5 PG = +2% CPU | -16% (WOW)
Now, you can clearly see that the comparison numbers are unbalanced. The way to fix this is to either increase the CPU to a percentage closer to the percentage of the PG it "loses", or just give it more PG (as implied above I would personally prefer this as the extenders and the ARR eat all the PG, making me have to use a PG extender to fit darn a kin cat).

BL4CKST4R wrote:Max out weapon fitting optimization and more CPU for the suit I have it already but it's still at 8-10 PG with both optimization and Caldari assault fitting reduction bonus on rail weapons (-25%). That's the same/higher than the CR PG cost (with no bonuses applied on it, whereas the caldari weapon considered is at -50% of its original PG). Just wow at the balance.

Middas Betancore wrote:Pg is the cal suits "weakness" I find gotta get that pg optimisation, run more dmg mods and regen mods Yup, you either run more than 1 regen mod (which is not viable as much because it leaves you only with -530 shields HP), or you use PG upgrades, losing a low slot to get your fitting quality close to other assaults'.

Proto rail and MagSec Proto flux 3 complex extenders 1 complex energizer 1 complex dmg mod 2 complex shield regulators 1 complex reactive plate 1 compact hive 800 ehp( 530 shields and 270 armour) 50 shield repair a second with a 3 second delay 4.5 armour repair a second 3 PG to spare. Your point? Did you read that?

Your point? Did you read that? For what?As in, what do you need more PG for? If you get more PG then you have to lose CPU and guess what, I have a feeling most Caldari assaults will be angry at that since they run CPU intensive mods and not armour mods as I suspect you are doing. I need the PG for make the CPU/PG ratio of the CalAssault on par with other assaults'. We should get more PG without losing any CPU or viceversa because of the said bad ratio. Plus I want people who spec into Caldari assaults actually able to get a good fit without having every CPU/PG optimizations at 5

Right now I can fit everything proto on my Caldari assault, with the exception of an equipment slot.

EDIT: Again, stfu about fits and get the true point of my proposed PG buff
