But still disappointed, especially as this is a reversal of fairly recent message given by CCP.

True, I remember having some discussions about those being released but the dropsuit was always kinda the big one in terms of an exclusive.
From what I understand this was not done as an intentional slight to the Tester's Tournament winners. More so that this went down 2 years ago and I don't think anyone directly involved in the Tournament is even at CCP anymore.
Kinda like the officer weapons event it might be cool to have some of the equipment that was supposed to be exclusive named after the first and second place teams.

How about a wild compromise?
Let the Balac suit be in the strongbox mix for the first one or two weeks only
That would give a decent base of suits for lucky individuals while still retaining fairly good exclusivity.
That could be as "amongst the first boxes found in new eden there were some relics, suits worn by Balac himself"
And somewhat promote early acquisition of decryptor keys (buff initial AUR sales).
Just an idea?

For those who don't already realise, there are more than just the balacs assault in strongboxes. I am certain that CCP Logibro already listed some in a thread and those are the ones in the boxes + the balacs. They may be under different names however as Frost Kitty said he got a 'Gastun's' sentinel. But really though we can't check the stats on them because the SDE hasn't been updated.
