I do like how you can clearly see that you can skill and spec to specifically use the knife as an effective offensive weapon. However, the delay between the button push and the actual swing of the knife seems a bit excessively long. I'm finding it difficult to land a hit because by the time the knife actually swings the target has already moved out the way. Any way we can shorten that delay so I can stab more people? Other than that I think the damage with skills/mods is reasonable for now and should stay the same, so for the love of god PLEASE do not let people convince you to make the knife a 1-hit kill without properly speccing into it....last thing we want is another MAG fiasco with level 5 players running around with katanas that liquify anything they touch. |

THIS! It's so frustrating when you're doing the dancing duel and the knife can't even be brought into question to be used as said that by the time you've pressed it and waited for the animation one of you is already dead |

I would like to be 'inb4casual' and request a reversion of knifing mechanics to pre-replication (uprising) mechanics. The knife worked fine in that environment being stamina limited. That knife was for the most part ideal, an effective weapon, and added value to the game. I'm not entirely sure why it was changed. The level of difficulty of hitting people with the knife was fine. Please roll back the mechanics to the uprising knife system so the fanfest+others can see what I am talking about.

And under current mechanics, after skilling it up you will find out that its not. A rollback will return it to relevancy and re-add diversity to the game. |

I like the knife how it is right now. Wouldnt change anything at all. I allready killed some ppl in a way which a knife deserves (Back stabbing and/or finsihing while need to reload main weapon)
I dont want to see the knife as a overpowerd super weapon except someone is really going for some "Assasin" like (Cloaking device, reaction implants for faster knifing, skills etc.) Could be good against some annyoing Snipers :P |

Would be nice if I could swing the knife while reloading. Been in many a close quarters fight now where I unloaded the magazine in my assault rifle, started reloading, and some dude runs up to me and I can't swing the knife because the reloading animation hasn't finished. |

Well what I mean to say is, you can see there are mods and skills specifically designed for knifeing, but you're forced to specialize if you want to do that, which is good. Current mechanic makes it very difficult to hit anyone with it though, so damage is pointless if you're swinging at an afterimage all the time.
Also I would love to see a Scout dropsuit with a passive bonus to melee damage with significantly reduced offensive abilities otherwise. Covert Ops Suit perhaps? |

I'd be in favor of being able to interrupt the reload, but it should not interrupt the animation of stopping the reload as it does in other shooters. In many other shooters it can be a bit silly that you can instantly knife despite having both hands full while reloading, and I do like it a lot that there is a delay after shooting or changing guns before you can melee. Knifing is something I am rather fond of, which is the reason I chose this name. As for reverting it to pre-replication I am highly against this. For thos who were not aware, you could spam knife about 6-7 times in very rapid succession until you ran out of stamina after about 2-3 seconds. The speed was totally ridiculous and I think the ideal balance might be closer to what we have not but a slightly decreased cooldown between two melee swings. |

you could spam the knife before? well how about NO to the return of that!!!
its not about making the game to suit our playstyle. its about helping this game be great. balance comes first. if you played MAG you owe it to this community to help this games make NONE of Zipper's mistakes.
i'm actually ok with the delay (notice the same thing when swapping to weapons) its a lil different in regards to FPS where for so long everyone has swapped weapons like quick draw mcgraw or somebody...
like nova i prefer a delay when switching weapons.
might be asking too much, but might be nice to be able to equip the knife and have it have a faster reaction...of course if you wanted to switch back to your gun there'd be a delay. |

I wholeheartedly support being able to charge someone down with knife drawn the whole way for extra style points! Who needs guns, anyways? |

The knife delay is awful and there is absolutely no reason why it should be there. I personally don't even bother with it, and I have lost count of how many knife-happy hopefuls I have kited around. Even when I have to reload I just keep moving, because they're absolutely no threat, which is wrong - ideally a situation like that would turn into a decisive knife-duel, but since people have so much health, shield regen is so fast and strafing speed is ridiculous; choosing to go for a knife-on-knife will give other players time to come up and gun you down. |

Indeed that was happening to me quite often while attempting to finish someone off after unloading both guns on them and seeing them dance happily out of my sights. LOL reminded me to back up and reload just in time to be shot. A slightly quicker interrupt of the reloading process would be nice as well as an increased attack speed but not a complete quickdraw effect according to skill.
I also noticed that the reach of the knife is hard to judge, yes it's a knife but it seems like I need to almost hug another player to hit with it. An option to buy different lengths of knives would be great.
