I think this is unintentional. I asked Rattati on Biomassed a couple days ago how this would work and he made it sound like to me that only the Squad Leader was supposed to be able to drop OBs, regardless of size.

Not any member of the squad. Any member of the team.
Right now you open the orbital menue, and see a total amout of WP. Say 500.
After some random person on the team drops a flux orbital its subracted from the menu.
Only 200 WP available.
This is regardless of what your squad is doing and what ou are tring to save for.

Really, blimey, i know patch day can be bumpy but that's just plain silly.
This will probably be fixed tomorrow or the rage will flood comms

Or you could sit in the MCC and still get a decent kill assist count by placing them carefully...
Of course it will be fixed in the next couple of days I expect.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

No, this is a myth. There is a UI bug that half the time will turn all of the orbital options red even if you have enough WP. Close the Off map support menu and reopen it until the orbital you should have unlocked shows up.
Though I find the Battle Commendation: Orbital Strike ready for squad leader use message being spammed above my kill feed far more frequently than my squad could possibly get 300 wp consecutively a much more annoying bug. |

It's just a UI glitch.
You can't actually call in any orbitals that your squad hasn't personally earned.
The WP count in the Off Map Support menu seems to fluctuate between the entire team's WP and your squad's WP, but only the squad WP matters, you can't use WP your squad hasn't earned.
You can select an Orbital and even go into the firing map, but if you're squad itself doesn't have enough WP for the Orbital you selected, then it won't fire.

Perhaps a glitch certainly not as ^^ described , and a myth? Lol, get real.
I've been squad lead all afternoon. The WP totals have been going up and down whether or not i have dropped my own squads OB. When your running with 3 other players earning over 1K WP each, and we still barley have enough for an orbital flux, while the blueberries seem to have an endless supply, it demonstrates to me that our WP is being spent elsewhere.
