ADS's and their wonky aiming... pha, no more, man!
ADS's REQUIRE a lock-on mechanic, as 2 ADS's will never kill eachother in mid-air (or rarely will).
This lock-on mechanic would only target vehicles and installations, JUST like swarm launchers.
It would also have a dispersion radius, like the blaster turrets, to not make it insanely OP.
All we need to do now is figure out which button to use as the lock-on activator....hmm.
Commando A/1-Series, approach with caution.
Or just run away screaming.
It is not advised to attack unless in Sentinel.

Re-name current "Missile Turrets" to rocket turrets, add in missile turrets (or Swarm Turrets) that neither ADS gets bonuses to. Can lock onto vehicles (By holding down the trigger, similar to the charge mechanics) or dumb-fire onto the ground?
Khanid Logi and Tanker, sometimes AV Heavy or Sniper.
I believe all these roles are support for front line soldiers.

Meh, swarm turrets are a fine idea. Don't see ho this helps ADSs particularly. If anything it makes LAVs more useful as vehicle hunters (which is cool.)
ADS needs the ability to saturate an area with explosions/plasma/lasers/railwhatevers.

Would much rather the introduction of ads specific "bomb" weaponry.
minmatar rocket launcher- 12 clip free fire rapid missiles low-medium damage per missile but fast run (similar to bf3 rocket jet)
Gallente plasma cannon- 2 clip heavy shield damage charge up launcher for dive bombing shield vehicles
Amarr laser pulsar- charge to fire laser weaponry high damage short burst of damage (similar in operation to charge sr and scr)
Caldari missile volley- 5 clip anti armour missile launcher guided once locked on (Similar to guided missile from bf3)

I like the idea of a Swarm Launcher turret, but...
I would also like to see the introduction of active countermeasures.
- Flairs that you drop that mimic the signature of your Dropship, so that inbound swarms have a chance of switching their lock to the flair.
- Jamming Burst module which causes missiles within 50m to lose their lock, but with a cooldown.
- Any other ideas?
Are there any buttons on the DS3 that are not used when flying a Dropship which could be used for Counter Measures, so that it would not be necessary to activate them through the menu?
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

No. ADS on ADS is the best, and most intense battle. Pilot skill is the way.
Honestly, the only place i see true honor and respect is in a dropship duel. No one is yelling scrub or hating on each other... Its usually "whats your fit?" "good game" etc. You know why? Getting shot down means you have less SKILL than the other person. Putting auto lock takes away the skill and it'll lose the respect and honor battles have...
In otherwords, auto lock is too easy. Dropship on dropship should stay manual. Far more fun and you feel good getting a win. |
