C'mon -_- this event is a 90% success however I was told about this game by a friend and was told I didn't have to worry about the start character it mentions nothing?
Which was true I have played since March and nothing was mentioned my player style is min or gal I hate cal and I only like amar because the suits look cool.
I think for next time you have to consider players who know nothing about the eve universe. That being said bring a event to faction warfare that you can only use the factions gear! I find it so stupid running min and seeing an amar next to me massacring the enemy?!

Read up on the game. Also, your friend said it didn't matter - CCP never said it didn't matter. By and large it doesn't, but this is an event - special things happen during events or they wouldn't be events.
Also, You can feel cheated all you like, though you could have read up on the lore before playing the game:

you can have a winmatar start charater but work for amarr/cal/gal..just like any of them can work for any other

Out of all of release, it didn't matter much. Only which starter suits were better suited for your tastes, and maybe Caldari Prime to a certain extent. Other than that, it didn't matter until today. |

Then don't complain about not not knowing anything about the game or the factions. You can't say, in one breath, that CCP doesn't provide lore information, and then in the next say you know all you need to know.

At the same time you as a player are somewhat expected to learn about New Eden else your whining lacks impact.
