Maybe someone could explain this... Last match I met mercenary 'zzz set' and shot his shields down with ease, even his armor proved no match, strafing could not save him from certain death...so I thought: the moment I hit his last 10-15% of armor, no more damage registered, hits did though. A full clip of my breach smg could not pierce his last bit of armor, and as could be imagined, I got killed eventually. The usual CCP laggery, I thought, but good a spawn point was only meters away and spawn time was 3 seconds. Respawn, approach from behind, shoot, same thing: shields go down, armor melts, but his last 10-15% won't falter, I die. This is...odd. |

Lag switches aren't odd.

If I remember correctly, zzz sst is a Japanese player. Japanese players tend to have better connections and faster pipelines connecting them to the battle servers. While I have no hard evidence for this, it seems to explain my experience at least.
Hit markers in this game tend to be odd as well. I will get hit markers while getting no damage done on my opponent and on the other hand, I'll do damage to people and not get a hit marker for the killing shot. Granted, maybe I'm not paying enough attention to it but if you would like to donate a capture card to me I'd really appreciate it.
The best thing I can think of is Server Compensation is going in favor towards him. When you get him down into armor, he's reacting on his side, but your system is still catching up. While your system is confirming hits client side, the server is still trying to pushing you data on where his ACTUAL location is, which is not where he is located at where you are currently shooting.
In other words, you are shooting at his "afterimage". However, ANY japanese player you play against, you will be shooting at their "afterimage" and isn't just isolated just to zzz sst.
Feel free to correct me though; I'm just pulling on my minimum knowledge of networking and latencies and whatnot.
