I'm still iffy on the new "Reflex" feature for stealth play they have. Removes the stress from the game if I can just jump and shoot the guy. I heard it put best like this, Hideo just removed the scariest sound in stealth gaming for a QTE.
But back to MGO, I hope, since I remember hearing that this is Open world, we're all like seperate Mercenaries in the place where this all is going down (The 'Stans if I recall), and we all are going around and trying to be better then they other guys, and we can form our own merc bands, and take more lucrative jobs and stealth our way through harder missions.
Basically what GTA Online wanted to be, but then got micro-transactions.

The Reflex feature can be toggled on or off to the users preference and to the favor to the Metal Gear Veterans I think it's disabled on the harder difficulty levels.
Also the Open world was only for the Campaign I'm pretty sure unless I'm missing something. The past two Metal Gears have been at set levels and you just neutralize the enemy by any means necessary.
The best thing about that game was character customization, not just the skills but the outer appearance. You can make you soldier look however you wanted, and even their voice.
It's Metal Gear so it's naturally prone to be silly a lot. One of the preset phrases our soldiers could say were "Meow...Meow...Meooow" To which if you started that, everyone would start spamming the Meow option or something equally silly.

Call Cat Merc.
Sorry, I can't watch the Vid. Google is BSing me with Age-Lock.
I didn't hear about that on the Reflex Feature. I would have it off Always. It'd be like playing Age of Empires with Infinite Resources. Fun? Yes, Engaging? NO.
That makes me sad to hear that. It would be awesome if we all could go and stealth our way around a base looking for a particular document, or to kidnap a scientist or officer, and then have to worry about getting them back to base. Maybe its yet here.
I just hope they have a PC version. Didn't Kojima say one time that he wanted a PC version of the Phantom Pain?

Despite doing the Big Boss run of MGS4, I never played much of MGO2. I was very similar in nature though to LoU's multiplayer, which my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed for it's team-based deathmatches. MGO3 seems to fall very much in line with that sort of genre.

W00T!!
Nice, I'd love a PC version. Maybe a series port as well, like the aniversery collection for the PS3.
Nabbed that a while ago, ad replayed MGS3 a bit. Tried Peace Walker, but I didn't really like it too much. Very mobile. Was made for that so I guess I shouldn't complain...

If they could redo any game. I'd want them to redo Peace Walker

Sad there'll be no more Solid. I kinda preferred Solid to Big Boss. But, he died at the end of MGS4. Or very shortly thereafter. Maybe some in media res could happen, going between 2 and 4, or 1 and 2. But it might be cheesy to do that.
Big Boss is still a badass of course.

I thought it was months!
*thought*
Oh, right. He'd infecting everybody around him with FOXDIE in 2 months. But didn't Drebins FOXDIE stop that? I think so, IIRC.

Drebin's nanomachines.....wait. What in the world was his nanomachines good for? Drebin actually admitted that the Patriots told him to supply snake with goods and assistance throughout the course of the game in the last scenes.
Hmmm, gonna have to research what that was for

FOXALIVE was the computer virus that killed the patriot AIs.
I know that Drebins was also for the ID guns, but didn't Naomi say that the new strain in snake was accelerating the FOXDIEs mutation? And those were from Drebin.

From the Wiki:
Quote:It later became apparent, however, that Snake had previously been injected with a newer form of FOXDIE by Drebin during his failed mission to assassinate Liquid Ocelot in the Middle East, which halted the mutation of the original virus. The new FOXDIE was programmed by the Patriots to kill Big Mama, Liquid Ocelot and Big Boss. Although the new FOXDIE had uprooted the old, it would eventually mutate as well and become dangerous to the general population. However, this would not occur for several years, and would only live as long as Snake, which was an estimated year at best.
Other than the mutated and new strands of FOXDIE, Liquid Ocelot briefly alluded to his earlier death from FOXDIE shortly after being defeated in a Metal Gear battle with Snake on Shadow Moses, including re-enacting how he had earlier died, albeit with the phrases used reversed. However, Liquid then got back up and revealed he had been faking before telling Snake that FOXDIE "won't work on him this time."
