SO i've noticed logis have pretty decent SCan Precision. I've been looking specially the AMARR and the GAL (gal for the active scanners)
With NO Precision enhancers they already have 40.5 db, meaning they already see all heavies pretty well and Assaults unless they are dampened.
And with 1 cx precision enhancer they have 32.4db, meaning they can detect most undampened scouts if not all.
They have (at level 5 passives) 22.5mtrs Scan range and with only 1 Cx Range amp they have 32.6Mtrs range.
I've been thinking of double prec enhanced Amarr Logi with 1 cx range amp or a GAl Logi With triple Profile DAmpeners and double proto active scanners....
(planned equipment, at least 1proto scanner, 1 proto uplink and 1 adv nanohive)
So, my question is, anyone has tried using E-war, specifically scanning, on logis?
Any ideas? Is this really stupid?

Just use a gal logi with 3 active scanners to ruin the oppositions day. Nothing is more punishing then beeing scanned in ambush and then chased by 16 people. The passive bonuses are not really worth it so you might want to put damage mods in your highslots so if some 1 gets close you could drop him rather quickly.

It's not stupid as if your playstyle is really supportive, few meters behind your slayer friends, then it makes sense to give up some HP to give wallhack to friends.
I've tried a rep-slave logi with scans but currently the HP sacrifice to detection amount ratio is not good enough. in 1.9, the HP trumps.
That might change.

I guess thats a way to see it. Not very Visionary but surely effective. The Gal Logi would be the most effective in this case i assume...

I've run two complex range extenders and two complex precision modules on a proto min logi when I was in squad repping heavies.
It was effective, best passive ewar outside the scouts and I was still able to have two plates and two shield extenders.
That said, the whole passive scan meta is going to change in 1. 10 and at first glance it looks like it will be better for logies than right now

Well , my objective is to plant a couple of Proto links. And camp by them until they are depleted. (new game style, Blue/Uplink CAmping) Let the whole team spawn safely at a good position with cover.
Thats why im considering damp or Scan as options to increase detection of threats and protect my beautiful uplinks...

Just throw an RE on top of it. Then when the SG/ NK guys go to destroy it, they kill themselves in the process. Always good for some LOL's. Of course, with a proto uplink that is too expensive and doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I would wait til 1.10, then re-assess. I've tried seeing what it's like to run a Gal Assault as a scout (a "Scout-Heavy" if you will, the opposite of Assault-Lite). The range is what screws you over. EWAR is nothing without range.
I can put two PDs and two PEs easily on an ADV GalAssault and match scouts easy at that EWAR level with more HP, but the 10m base range makes it pretty crap. The scout at 20m has a *massive* advantage.
1.10 is throwing that out the window, and if I've understood the patch notes correctly, ranges are generally going to be bloody tiny - 4 / 10 / 20 for most suits. The logi will be slightly better than any other class, scout included, but not by much. Range Amps are also taking a massive hit, 45% down to 15%.
I really hope I've misinterpreted it all, but at the ranges they're slating, my negative side is telling me EWAR will be mostly pointless.

Yes, but you use common sense. I don't know how many times I've been randomly running around and a +50 Kill pops up on my screen.

So 2 comp ranges and 2 comp precisions should do it huh...?

(looks @ Cal Logi) Yeah, Cal logi might be the way to go for eWar considering the crazy amount of slots it has.
Currently I run just I complex precision mod on all my Amarr logis. Works reasonably well.
The way I see it, the tradeoff to see actual damped scouts is not worth it in terms of the other things I need to do, particularly since there will always be some I will never see no matter what. I take my max passives and the one mod to keep the lazy scouts at bay.
That said, this patch has so much going on between bandwidth and eWar that it's a definite possibility I will just scrap my entire fittings list and start over from a blank slate.
