Get more skill into it. The basic sucks and some proficiency is nice. Use a damage mod and try the assault version. Low damage, yes, but high rate of fire, larger clip and enormous blast radius. You won't be able to miss. |

Idk I would stick to the minmando md/cr rifle set-up for the bonus and just add a kin cat or two for speed. |

Just learn to lead them as they run. It won't take many hits to bring down the fast suits anyways |

Like to three clips? It already takes 4-6 shots to kill anything. What's more, it eats nanos as snacks... I run with an ishukone gaged I believe it is. You can carry 4 of them and as long as the blue dots don't try to steal em you will have plenty of ammo |

Fox Gaden wrote:I will elaborate on my earlier post, as you probably wonGÇÖt GÇ£getGÇ¥ it until you have learned how to use the thing. Now, I have not used the Mass Driver since the Open Beta, but I think the technique is probably still the same.
First, get a few more levels of Operation skill to widen the blast radius.
DonGÇÖt aim for your target. If your target is standing next to a wall, try to hit the wall near your target to catch them in the splash. Tight hallways are good because of the limited space you can hit the floor, wall, or ceiling and still catch them in the splash.
If they are running across open ground it is more tricky as you are trying to hit the ground at their feet. Miss a little bit and you hit the ground 10m behind them and the take no damage, or 10m in front of them and only you take damage.
If they get close, try to hit the ground behind them. You want the impact to be far enough away so that you are not caught in the splash, but close enough so your target is caught in the splash.
It is easier to use in fairly close quarters, as you donGÇÖt have to worry as much about the arc, but you will often catch yourself in the edge of the blast radius when working up close. Good thing the Commando has some decent health. (I always thought that Bojo was ballsy to use the Mass Driver on a Scout suit.)
Shooting a Nova Knifer in the chest is VERY satisfying, even if it is VERY suicidal.
Hitting targets at range is very tricky, and is the mark of a truly skilled Mass Driver user. That blast radius may sound big, but calculating the arc when you lob your shot, to have it land anywhere close to your target, takes a knack that is only gotten through practice. Someone who uses it more may be able to tell you which tick on the radical lines up with which range.
Firing down from elevation is much easier as you donGÇÖt have to deal with the Arc as much, and you are much more likely to hit the ground near your target when shooting down than when shooting horizontally.
() <= The ground area you are trying to hit as you see it when you are on the ground. (Ok, it is hard to draw an ellipse with text.) O <= The ground area you are trying to hit as you see it from the top of a building. (The O was the biggest circle I could make.) Anyway the point is that since you are targeting a circle on the ground with your enemy in the middle of it, that circle will look like a tight ellipse when viewed from a nearly horizontal perspective, but will be closer to a full circle when viewed from above.
Holy wall of text Anyone get further than I will elaborate? |

I used correct capitalization, periods, and separated it into paragraphs. There are far worse walls of text out there. Maybe some day I will take the time to format it all nice and pretty to make an official guide. But for now I was just writing down everything I remembered about the Mass Driver, and it turned out to be a lot more than I expected. Besides, I am the guy that refuses to use Twitter because I feel it is draconian to restrict communication to 140 characters. Fair enough, I withdraw my post. |
