Hi Rattati,
I have been experimenting with my PS3 Slim to get it to run cooler. It was quite hot previously when playing any game (causing framerate drops that made it impossible to play the game in 720p resolution). I have now replaced my thermal paste, and increased the fan speed by building a PWM fan controller (dont worry, my PS3 warranty ran out long time ago  ).
Historically you could summarize PS3 heat problems like this:
- All PS3s have cheap thermal paste (not very good, dries out over time).
- Sony has decreased the fan speed in several firmware updates over the years.
- PS3 fat has huge overheating problems due to the PSU generating too much heat.
- PS3 slim has less heat issues, the main issue here is the thermal paste drying up and causing poor thermal contact.
- PS3 super slim has improved cooling compared to the two previous versions.
My concern is that overheating PS3 + intensive Dust 514 battles is not a great combination. Dust 514 is known to push the console to its limit, as it is known that few PS3s gave up and died during closed beta (as far as I know).
Food for thought:
- Does your Q&A team test the game on PS3 Fat/Slim/Super slim?
- What type of PS3 do you personally play on?
I know you implemented framerate fixes in 1.9 (thanks to whoever figured that out), and some people have noticed it, while others have not gained in performance. To me, that indicate some variable is hidden/not being considered. It could be the system variability out in peoples living rooms, and the implications of that such as overheated CPU/GPUs or just that electronics do wear out after excessive use over long time.

Well I'm glad I bought a super slim.
Commando A/1-Series, approach with caution.
Or just run away screaming.
It is not advised to attack unless in Sentinel.

Confirmed.
Defragged my ps3 once a month and cleaned all the dust out of it and it still died about 2 months ago.
My ps4 also needed re pasting.
In other news, my atari woodgrain runs fine.
So to conclude.............Suck one SONY!.
