Currently squad leader orders are just a way to farm more WP (defend) and some commands are overlapping (attack or conquer), the other is almost unused (regroup).
First of all, commands should be more intuitive and easy to use and at the same time, i suggest to: Merge attack/defend and delete capture to a single dinamic command. Attack/capture if pointed on red stuff. Defend if pointed on blue stuff (change defend to give a +5/10% instead of +20%)
Then each merc should have it's own commando wheel, this would gretly help non-verbal comunication, there are many possible use for it:
Request Ammo Request Triage Request to a vehicle to be picked up Indicate direction you are going (or want to go if on a vehicle) Possible integration with a paint target feature
I also suggest to remap keys in a similar way of BF3 where "select" button is a dinamic order/ requesr/ spot button depending on the situation.

Absolutely. Hell the ability for regular squad members to 'tag' targets would be instrumental. Can't tell you how many times I'm asking "Where is the tank at?" and I have to get lengthy landmark descriptions, I'd rather they just tag the damn thing and be done with it.

Also The lack of human sound comunication in Dust is really annoying, there are no screams, mercs are not yelling at each other. I understand why mercs don't yell at each other, but at this point we need an improved not verbal com system.

You mean your merc auto shooting "I'm out" when shooting without ammo and that kind of stuff? Cause that would be really nice.

Yep, that kind of thing, but it would not be cool if mercs with closed helmets could yell at each other. For that reason we need more ways to comunicate with teammates.

Then again since it is superfuture, tacnet might as well show this kind of info about you team mates in augmented reality. I think it could be quite interesting if your suit gives more info about teammates like carried equipment and for example predicted projectile routes and clear symbols for different types of grenades and the likes. This gives you the ability to make snapshot decisions in battle and allows for extra strategy in pubs/FW when you playing with random blueberries.
But I guess I'm sidetracking from your point about more communicative possibilities. |

I'm definitely down with this. We need more ways to communicate with team/squad mates, in a big way.

Would like to see added to TacNet Target Intel:
Scan Precision (inner/middle/outer if possible, otherwise just middle) Scan Range (inner/middle/outer if possible, otherwise just middle)
Shoot scout with yes.

I like it pretty good. I REALLY WANT the soldier wheel, in addition to the leader wheel.
I would say that we need to add a very large, unobtrusive arrow, similar to the rally point, so that squad leaders can set 'attack vectors'
alternatively to your suggestion, what if we also reduce the WP commission on 'red' tags, but allow up to three at once, or something!

I approve this! but remember guys, this might be code intensive. So this will not come straight ahead. Maybe on December, if the Rat gets to read the thread.

this is a great point, which is hard to isolate. The world is already giving constant contextual clues regarding stuff: uplinks, gunfire, grenade, tanks, etc. however you can't tell when a player is in a 'key status' such as:
Low Ammo Low Health Under Fire Bleeding Out
It would be great if the hud elements from the repair tool could be expanded and available as squad information at close (0-20 meter) ranges.
This may contribute to how blueberries can get lost and wandering the redlines. silly blueberries.
