Choose Environment (with a preset geographical layout), Place Buildings & Objects, Select Battle type (Skirmish, Domination, etc) and Upload it either to the creators to be considered and possibly 'created' or even a site where players can trial each others maps. I KNOW something like this would take alot to make happen. I just think it would be cool. |

Not only would it be cool. But it would be a great way for CCP to give this game type of map diversity it needs to feel like you are fighting on many different worlds.
Let the community do the work!
Obviously maps would have to meet numerous criteria, and go through screening and review, but the community would be willing to draw within the lines on this I'm sure.

Adding community supplied content would do several things. 1st take some work load off the CCP Dev teams, (free labor) and vastly diversify the content making it A very player driven game 2nd it would make the players feel like Dust 514 is a brand new game every time they logged in.
As simplistic as MineCraft is, look at the maps and mods for players to download, and the fact it was done for free by players worth so much for Mojang, Because of it Microsoft payed over a billion in $$ for it.
Even if you sold "packs of items" to use for mad making for AUR, I would buy into that to make custom maps for playing. And you could have a player feed back system where it's as simple as likes and dislikes. Where if the dislikes exceed the likes its Dropped off the map play list. Let the players build it and manage it with in the community and it could be self ran, with minimal Time and effort by CCP, and just have it as an option like skirmish, domination, player map skirt/Dom. Etc.
I bet it would bring back a lot of players that are getting burned out on same map issues.
The community can do a lot of really cool maps, I've seen it on other games, far exceed the Dev content. A lot of imagination out there and it didn't cost the companies a dime to add it to their stock of play fields.
I understand the majority of corp decisions are currency driven. Cost to build vs income to support the company, this would bring in lots of money by selling AUR items to map build and then let the players play the maps for free. CCP could make money on player driven content, just give us a chance to prove its a viable option for the community.
