You gotta admit for a 2.75 Million ISK construct that was some pretty good module activation game play.
That's roughly 10-12 standard contracts to redeploy.

Campaigning to get Rattati to bring back Marauders right now.....and have armour hardeners buffed to 30%, also campaigning to have Shield HAV fitting values decreased slightly and armour's buffed slightly.

That's roughly 10-12 standard contracts to redeploy. I dont even have to admit. It was still not invincible, and I think that thing was relatively balanced. In today's maps, it would be an inconvenience at most, as it would only bother people if they tried to leave an area. I say this because most maps are city oriented nowadays, with points left unexposed to the oustside. The reason it used to be a killer was because there really was nowhere to hide back then, with the Manus Peak map. And yes, I liked the old module activation system. It would be cool if they added a non-passive variant for armor repairers that has a higher repair rate than the passive ones, sort of like the old ones.
Best bit about Marauders was ******* them up and kicking over some kids sandcastle, knowing you set them back 10+ games.

Think about it like this.
How many HAV pilots are willing to sink 20-30 Million SP into their craft? Some sure as a Slaverhound chews of the thighs of virgin Matari, but not many would do this but certainly some would.
One Marauder would be worth two lesser tanks in the hands of a skilled pilot, and cost between three and nine times as much......
To even deploy one you'd have to be rather wealthy, confident, well skilled, experienced, or desperate enough...... or you risk very quickly having your 3 million ISK HAV be dropped by competent AV.

Who is this fun for?
I seriously question the mental state of people who enjoy this type of experience in video games. Do you also kick puppies?
You pay ISK to feel all powerful and it is mentally ill.
Does the pilot of a T2 vessel pay to have a superior ship to a T1 pilot? Yes..... yes we do. This however does not mean and ******* idiot pilot like myself will not lose this ship if they handle the vessel wrongly.
Does a Prototype Dropsuit not cost more than a Standard Dropsuit and do you not pay more ISK for the benefits it and similarly tiered modules convey? Yes you do.
The guy in this video was likely significantly invested in his role ISK, SP, and experience wise.
Noting also that tanks at the time never had passive reps. Every module in this video is one the pilot made the conscious decision to activate, some parts of which almost cost him is HAV only able to be narrowly avoided in the end.
Moreover the Armour Tanks were significantly slower and less manoeuvrable I'm surprised he was able to get away.
I'm honestly surprised. At the end of Uprising I had higher scoring matches in a Madrugar vs AV buffed in preparation for Wolfman's "Vehicle's Fix".
Back then armour tanks had viable EHP values.

You pay ISK to feel all powerful and it is mentally ill. Highly contradictory statement based on the amount of intolerant overreaction. The players had no one trying to focus on fighting the vehicle, and it only took a mere 2 people to narly destroy it. The tank driver survived by the skin of their teeth, and if those two actually attacked from a higher elevation or behind it would have been dead and there. The AV was effective, but one AV couldn't easily kill a true tank, like how it should be now.
Before the comment 1 player to destroy 1 player.
There were two people in that tank.

You pay ISK to feel all powerful and it is mentally ill. Ahahaha... ahahah! That is one seriously closed mind you got there buddy. Imagine how much skill that took, in game time, ISK... Not to mention that it still wasn't invincible. I bet that in today's game, it would die easily to two competent swarmers... I find it funny that it is still collecting tears, even after being removed. Skill? "Collecting tears"? Any independent thoughts rattling around in that brain pan of yours chachi? 11,500 hp tank die to 2 swarmers? I have made a mental note that "LUGMOS" is not to be taken seriously going forward. No hard feelings. Seriously though, that thing was definitely not invincible, mind you. They have also increased effectivity of AV and decreased effectivity of hardeners and other modules. Really, do you even know your tank bro? Have you not a clue what has actually changed number wise on vehicles? Even blasters have been reduced in effectivity... And that's only gameplay wise... There are many other factors that justify that tank's capability; risk v reward, ISK cost of tank v ISK cost of AV, the introduction of Commando suits... Come on man. I already told you, but i'll say again. That is one seriously closed mind. I also don't like to tolerate ignorant insults... I don't like a lot of things. That's life. I deal. I'm a man. Why was this tank removed from the game if CCP was trying to provide an experience that appealed to most players and provided the best opportunity to make money?
Actually they stated that they removed it because we as players were not using them how CCP intended them to be used but never stated how they were supposed to be used.
Basically back then deploying any HAV was a gamble. Rendering was terrible past 50m, AV absolutely wrecked face (as it should) individual AV players shut down entire maps and never had to move, and ISK....... making that ISK back IS painful for dedicated vehicle pilots.

Agreed.
My point was that I don't understand players who enjoy a game with little to no challenge.
In my gaming experience, if it's too easy I get bored.
To me, in DUST 514, sniping is boring and tanking is boring.
I believe that a certain type of individual flocks to these two roles.
Most tankers play that role to farm easy infantry kills. Most are not interested in tank vs tank fights. Care to disagree True?
Snipers? I just don't get it. No challenge and boring. But that's just me. Why do players start sniping when they are getting stomped? The answer is obvious.
I have no respect for either role because I know why most play it. And that is to feel artificially superior when regular infantry roles can't provide them that feeling.
Gamers like to feel like they are good and special. If infantry in DUST doesn't provide that, well snipers and tanks can.
And that is symptomatic of more serious emotional issues.
But that's the thing. I find infantry work boring, uninspired, fundamentally pointless, and not entirely difficult.
But Tanking? I found that challenging and exciting pre 1.7 Tank Pocalypse.
Having to guess at your enemies fits, building up your own over time, trying to preserve ISK, having to manoeuvre into the perfect positions for that strafing run and timing your modules perfectly.
I loved Blaster vs Blaster duels as it was a real matter of attrition. Module activation was king, and to be honest even though I lost almost every time only being able to field a Soma and ADV gear I kept at it until I was good at what I did.
The last few days of Uprising before 1.7 where I scored 44/0, 52/1, 66/0 were all on my own merits that I earned like any Saxonmish, Arkena Wyrnspire, Cyrius Li Moody, etc gameplay video.
Hell outside of Dust 514 I player War Thunder Ground Forces where Tanks can be blown up in single shots from 500+m away and there are no infantry to engage, I also tank in BF4, before that in Starwars Battlefront 1 and 2, and going forwards I drive vehicles in all the shooters I play.....
Back pre 1.7 killing infantry was superfluous to my actually role which was anti tank and asset destruction (e.g CRU, Supply Depots, Turrets, etc).

'Tis why I don't like insulting people directly, as it makes for easier forgivings and better, cleaner argument.
Hell even I hate those ******* cowards who snipe or hide at the redline.

It's beautiful. Could not agree more.
Also if you look into the Shield Marauder vid Pyrex ran with AdaptandDie the way that Supply Deplot explodes is orgasmic..... well not really but it looks really nice.
Also back then I used to have Siege Mode as my Signature thing.
Any time there was a something on the map that squad leader did not like I'd active my Hardener, Damage Control, and Heat Sink II and I was a Bastion that didn't need to move until my target was dead or enemy brought sufficient AV number to run me off of the point.
This was characterised by a resounding "SIEGE mode!" on squad comms.
