Can we call the Mass Driver 'The Doctor'?
Kind of a joke I remembered from Enders Game(The book, not that god awful teenie movie)
The weapon in the book had the initials MD like the mass driver, and ended up with the nickname Little Doctor
So yea......
Doctor go boom

I don't know why people are such book elitists.
There is nothing wrong with the movie, it depicts the book in a different manner, but it's not poorly written, directed or acted. It's just different.

Because it is a work that took on the same name, setting, and characters as the book, yet does not follow it as it should.
Kind of like how movies based on games are also poor quality when compared to the source.
That said, Ender's Game was awful, both the movie and book. I loved Ender's Shadow, though. Bean is a far more interesting character. |

The movie skipped over a lot of the outright deceptive intel used on Ender, completely glossed over Dragon army, relegated Bean Alai and other pivotal characters to bit roles and lost most of the critical data in translation.
Basically they skipped over anything that would show ender and the kid crew as being so stressed, strung out and worn out the way they were in the story and how they built their team.
So in the end the movie made ender into a whiny little emo ***** with a barely mentioned and pitifullly understood "understand enemy, love enemy and the next moment exterminate.
It also completely skipped over the fact that the bug queen was actively altering the damn computer game to get into the heads of the humans, which was one of the reasons ender wound up figuring out WTF was going on.
You literally had to have read the books and mentally filled in the blanks to actually understand WTF was happening in the movie.
The movie would take part of a chapter, show that bereft of context, then skip two chapters to show another part of a chapter.
Inn essece, the movie failed at telling a story except by accident.
EVE Online is what you get when engineers attempt to create "fun" without consulting someone who comprehends the word.
