You can kill gloriously 3 people with one clip, missing most of the time! Sucker's a B. It's fun tho but equally unbalanced like the Bolt pistol.
Bolt pistol suggestion stats: 125, 150, and 175! I've carefully thought about these stats. Balance them pweety peas! |

no. railrifle is underpowered at the moment if they havent already addressed the kick/charge issue.
Don't vote for iron wolf saber.
Vote for someone who will help the community i.e. anyone else.

They did address the kick and charge but if you haven't used any other weapons besides the RR u should! You'll realize how much it is overpowered. |

When I first heard about the racial rifles, I always thought a rail rifle would be a medium range single shot weapon with a short charge, like a larger bolt pistol or a smaller Charge Sniper, not an automatic weapon. That or the sniper weapons were getting renamed.
Actually, a Tactical Rail Rifle might not be so bad. 1 shot with about a 0.6 charge, smaller clip but longer range than a RR. Damage per shot somewhere between RR and Sniper levels, so about 100.
This is off the top of my head and is obviously not very balanced. If anyone can improve it, go ahead.

RR nowdays isn't OP. It's decent. In my opinion not worth using on most of maps.
Also laser is so much better.

I think the rail rifle kick is terrible and with the kick in ads I find it very difficult to finish opponents.
If your frame is squishy and a rr kills you before it's the epileptic kick starts, maybe take cover next time...

I'd only agree with the Bolt Pistol damage nerf if the mag was increased to six.
I miss calling it a "Six-Shooter..."
RR's fine though, a bit lacking, but in a decent position.

I believe the bp is fine it is pretty hard to hit a moving target with it. The rail rifle feels as OP as it always was since they reduced the charge to .45. Hopefully they are still testing and will try out .55 because .45 is still way to short I can kill a sg scout that gets the jump on me.

Alot of people have spec'ed into the RR so yeah there would be alot of pissy cry babies having their candy taken away. But to have fully balanced weapons you have to trim the fat of em. The RR's dps is too high. |

The only thing i can think of to balance the rail according to the OP is add a capacitor that constantly charges. Soo, it'll be like this:
-I have a cap charge of xkW, to fire i use ykW.
Noow im going to think armored core and say if you use up your entire cap, yu have to wait for a full charge (also reffering to the laser/scrabler's o.h mechanic). I honestly think being able to throw all rounds down range isnt really a fair thing... One should control the rifle. Now the rail rifle could be like this:
Rail [damage, CAPACITOR, capRecharge, kW_USAGE]
xkW = CAPACITOR {( while weapon is in use)
{ xkW is the xkW - kW_USAGE + capRecharge fullRecharge = (xkW - kW_USAGE < 0)? true:false //where xKw is the leftover charge
If fullRecharge is true, invoke the recharge method) } (fire while trigger is pulled);
The recharge method { Increase capRecharge by X amount until xKw = CAPACITOR Return fullRecharge is false
}//fullRecharge method } //weapon useage
(just throwing it together, never looked into that pseudocode there) Now, if you wonder why i came with that idea it's only because i want to see a useful calass bonus... Decreased charge usage per level, increased capacitor per level, anything better than reload speed :/ |
