WoD or Word of darkness, with this name there is so much pain for every lover of original Pen and Papers games situated in world of Vampires, Ghuls, Werewolfs, Mages and Ghosts (sorry if i forgot any other one, you know im just Brujah :D ). The interesting news from last weak speeds up muddy waters around long lost project.
CCP company sent message to modder community around the project Vaulderie, what was semi-amater attempt to make multiplayer and graphicaly polished mode for old (but still awesomely fun) Vampire the Masqureda: Bloodlines (2004) from former dev team Troika games. VtM:Bloodlines is known like one of the most supported RPG crossovers in genre, by its community who basicaly fix alredy really bugged game and starts with modding in no time basis (Troika games was KIA basicaly after release of game itself and there wasnt proper support).
Interesting thing is lawyers of CCP sent message to team behind project Vaulderie to stop with work on it. Is that mean CCP working on their VtM:Bloodlines project? Or maybe WoD was just frozen like project.
We will defo see in future ;)

So, basic truth: Companies have to protect their intellectual property or risk losing it.
These fan remake projects rarely if ever are permitted by IP holders regardless of their intent or not to use the IP themselves, and the idea to create one without getting official approval from the IP holder is largely stupid.

With all honestly there wasnt problem with modding since 2004 and now its not allowed. It is more than suspicious, if they rise law actions now.

They have to give CCP a reason to keep them hired don't they?

How would that even make sense? The whole Atlanta office is closed down and the game is cancelled. Unless they are making a new studio their branches are too busy working on their respective projects. I don't know why CCP didn't do it sooner, but It seems to be more of a reputation thing. |

Many projects were frozen in game or movie industry to be once resurected again.

It isn't "frozen" because the studio working on it no longer exists and the talent and knowledge isn't there anymore for the most part and the game is cancelled . The only thing that would make some sense is that CCP makes a completely new studio to make a completely different game or they will outsource it. Or they are doing something completely different that has little to do with a video game, but they don't have people to make a new game because all the studios are busy with something else. |
