You are able to obtain good standing on both sides of FW if you go back and forth between factions. THE PENALTY IS TOO DAMN NOT HIGH! |

Yes, but it needs to be higher.
The penity should enforce you fighting for the Min or Amarr and the Gal or the Cal.

i would prefer to be locked to 1 faction and gain increased LP and standings per win.. and increased LP and some standings for a loss.

Smart and caldari are allies so you wouldnt lose standings for either if you played for the other one. But if you played for minmatar or gallente then your standings would go down a little bit for both afaik

Fighting AND WINNING a battle for the enemy side gets you a reduction to your standings points. I believe it is 15 points meaning every 5 victories on one side negates one victory on the other side.

In response to the first line of your sig,
The militia laser may be more powerful than proto.
The heat builds up faster, increasing damage more than proto. Add 3 comp mods to that and you are in your prime damage output way faster than proto. The limited clip doesn't matter because you overheat before it runs out. So all you have to do is hit your target continually and you will win.

In Eve I earned positive faction for all empire races by running Interbus missions. It would be cool if we could participate in FW under a neutral flag, or anonymous, neither losing or gaining standings. If we can't get into our preferred faction, we could just queue anonymously and get into the next open fight.
