I noticed a few players who, after they lose a proto suit, will leave the match early. Does that prevent them from losing the dropsuit from their inventory?

 No.

They are either rage quitting, or simply found that their team was going to lose and didn't want to sit around for the rest.

A minor possibility that they DC'd.

Overall, if you lose a suit in battle, unless it is revived, it is gone for good.

 Actually, this is not true.

After you are downed and you are bleeding out, if you leave the match you save your suit.

I have done that a couple times, reason being I was going to join up with someone, and upon going to restock the suit, I didn't need to.

Thank you for asking this as I believe you should lose the suit while downed. Need to ask CCP what their take is on this behavior and mechanic.

This is why I try to always double tap. No revives, suit lost.

It's just a good habit to pick up.

Some players get pissed when you do but it's nothing personal.

I believe that if your match is interrupted by Downtime you do not loose anything lost in the match.

Sometimes when you start a Skirmish 10 minutes before down time it is fun to whip out the Officer gear and other expensive toys. You get to feel for a few minutes like one of the rich players.

I don't really see it as an issue as it is just one match per day, and the timing of the match is luck of the draw. I also don't think the fact that leaving the match before bleeding out saves your suit is much of an issue either, as you can only save one suit per match this way, and if someone is going to always leave every match the first time they die, then that is just sad and I pity that person.

after playing for almost 2 years you will come to realize that playing those matches were your team is filled with a bunch of incompetent 2 year olds it is just best to leave the match and find another.

As an incompetent two year old sometimes you come to realise that it's best when all the protobears filling the teams up quit to find another match.

Unless I'm in the middle of a fight I almost always double tap, and ABSOLUTELY do if it's proto.

Quitting like that can wreck matchmaking and cause more problems in the long run.

I've seen the same person quit and rejoin a match due to several dropping out at the same time. I rarely ever quit. Been guilty of it before, but mostly now I just keep spawning in with a Starter fit or a cheap BPO suit with a militia shotgun. Had some REALLY interesting and fun matches with just that militia shotgun suit. One match I died 17 times I think, but I killed the same proto suit twice. Worth it.

As long as the clone wasn't terminated, yes it does.

That's why it's important to double tap any suit you kill that has an Officer Weapon, unless you kill it with a Launcher/Explosive (in which case it's already terminated).

Yes, but only if you don't double-tap them, headshot them (?), let them commit suicide, they bleed out, or you kill them with an explosive.

That said, I'll bet you have never seen me do such a thing....because I don't. To the contrary, if you kill me in my proto suit, you can bet I'll be right back again...and again...and again. I'm heard-headed like that...and those situations are challenges to overcome and learning experiences for me -- things I relish much more than killing noobs.

Yes, so your spot can be filled by another fresh out of the Academy player while you find a few corpmates to stomp with. Matchmaking is never going to fix human behavior.
