Staying and fighting for a point when the battle is going to be lost would have been a worse decision. We're not so good its impossible for us to lose, or even lose in a big way. Complacency happens. If the .6 charge of the Rail Rifle stayed, you could increase the range out to 80 meters and it still would not be as useful as any of the other weapons. DUST map designs, especially the new ones, favor close and cramped fighting that means something like the HMG with its shortish range and high damage (along with being on a very sturdy body) makes it ideal. Sure, give Light Weapons 10% more range; all you will see is weapons that are CQC machines get buffed, weapons with huge ranges still have huge range, and the HMG with a Logi will still kill anything that tries to come into the building. The reason Scouts are spammed is because they are simply better than Assaults for slaying. For less EHP, Scouts get much faster movement, better E-war, and the ability to cloak. It is no different than the Slayer Logi: it is simply inferior to be an Assault suit in virtually every scenario. Want to be better Support? Go Logi, lose a little EHP and a sidearm and get Equipment spam going. Want to have a lot more EHP? Go Sentinel, lose speed, gain a lot of EHP and the ability to fit Heavy weapons. Want to be faster? Go Scout, lose EHP, gain enough fringe benefits to make up for it. Want to do more damage? Go Commando, lose some speed, gain EHP and 10% more damage and the ability to be both AV and Infantry. Assaults are just medium frames that are slightly better with one specific gun. "This is B.S! This is B.S! I paid money! Cash money, dollars money, cash money!"

The best Damage mod is a HEADSHOT....
