to put a scanner and a dampener on the Gallente 'Spartan' Assault? Seriously such a fcking waste of space, especially the scanner, I mean isn't that supposed to be the logi's gimmick? I can live with the pointless dampener but I don't even want the suit if I'm going to be stuck with a fcking scanner while using it. Do you not want people to buy the suit, is that it?
Here's an idea CCP; instead of locking the suits entirely, how about you just lock them to standard gear. You can easily set them to only allow a certain meta level item on the suit, just set it to 1 or possibly 1 & 2 if you want to allow for weapon variants to be used.

These suits arent supposed to be the best fits possible. They're already much more powerful than I'd like a lossless suit to be. If you want flexibility, get the other BPO suits.

Rattati is working on an EWAR update soon(TM). Perhaps after this update the EWAR modules on mediums will be a bit more valuable.

Assaults are supposed to be assaulting, scanning is a logi's job. All assaults have their racial equipment. Amarr get uplinks, Minmatar get REs, etc. Also, because Gallente use the AR with the shortest range, knowing your enemy's position, so you can close the distance is pretty crucial. The STD scanner is pretty weak, but it'll still give you a decent picture of where the enemy is.
Best PvE idea ever!

I'd rather use a standard assault BPO with militia BPOs. It's better that way.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

Okay you can take the Caldaris Nanohive which is useless if you are trying to actually assault something (which requires actually moving forward) for scans.

Okay you can take the Caldaris Nanohive which is useless if you are trying to actually assault something (which requires actually moving forward) for scans. Ammo is only useless when you're dead. I'd gladly take the hive or even a needle over a scanner any day. At least those offer a benefit that is underutilized by most teams (ammo & saving clones).
And no, assaulting doesn't require you to move forward, it just requires you to assault (attack) something; sometimes that means moving forward and sometimes that means popping in & out of cover.

The scanner is not a bad idea, but the STD one is horrible. You can only use it on undamped heavies and mediums without profile dampening skills or mods. |

I'm not saying coding a game itself is easy but within the realm of what they are doing, what they'd need to do to achieve that is relatively easy. Not all programming is as hard as pathfinding or realistically simulating all the factors effecting a bullet traveling from point A to point B; despite what people like to make programming out as, there are some relatively easy things to do.

The scanner is a bad idea because it has to be the STD which makes it useless on the suit because you can pick heavies and mediums up with passive scans.

What would you have preferred on your assault? Scans are what Gallente do. Scout should have a scanner on it too if you ask me.
If you're not wearing proto, you're doing it wrong.
