I've been on a side with no afkers against a side with 5. We cloned them by killing the afkers (between 3 of us we killed over 100 mercs). We definitely would have lost otherwise - they held the objective most of the match.
It's not only annoying, but can be game changing.

All players pay for time in battle should go to the regular battle pool which is divided up strictly on WP
Remove passive in battle SP and increase normal passive SP slightly
Make battle payouts 3 SP per WP
AFKing now rewards nothing and newbies can still grow. |

What about when you get placed in a match that basically over and you have no chance to gain WP's , like being placed in a match at the end right before the MCC blowing up screen , or when you only have like 3 mins before the match ends and the team your placed on is redlined which gives you no opportunity to gain any WP's ???
I don't like AFKing either but half the time I can understand why this happens when facing stacked opponents and that player is overwhelmed and underequipped but I get placed into the end of matches like a third of my matches and that's not a understatement and the fact that I could get banned for that would be a problem .
Doubts are like flies and should be treated as such and crushed .

Actually the answer is no.
Without getting into the math, basically compare it to a coin toss. Heads/tails 50-50 chance of getting either one on a toss, but that is over time oh say 10k tosses. In reality they come up in sequences like say 5 head 3 tails 4 head 8 tails because of probability and other stuff. So that is why most people when given a choice in a coin toss chose heads.
Now this does not take into account what the formula is for the match maker, which no one knows what or how it works. so again no.
Now even if you are to deal with a random number generator program with computers, the number is in reality not random it is a formula that when you have the same one you increase the probability of getting the same "random" number. Like those computer scientists a few years ago went to vegas with a formula they created to play keno and got all the numbers right and won the grand jackpot (they got caught because the hotel did not think it was probable for them to do that and investigated) .
Anyways no it is not 50/50 at all

Most definitely true.
Obviously this would need to be accounted for, like if their is less than 3-5 min left in game then no more players assigned to battle an if players leave the battle they get no points/ salvage but they can still leave. |

Many proposals have been put forward that may fix the issue, I have one more. Lets list them for CCP to look at and evaluate.
Keep all current features and add to them. Currently in FC if someone on your team kills you, you can tag them for kick out and once they get tagged by 2-3 people they are kicked out. Why not implement the same for AFK? Teammates that see an AFK can tag them and once they get 2-3 tags, software looks to see if they have any kills or kills and if they are in any battles moving/giving damage (can't just trust your teammates not to pick on someone), if not then they are banned for24hrs.
2 x ban in a week, suspend account for 2 weeks.
Just a thought, looking for feedback. simple fix would be player does not receive the end of match payment unless they have 50 war points or more. done. thats it.. it was simple and painless.. and since the afkers will not be getting sp or isk they will stop trying to afk farm.. meaning higher number of active players in a match

ok, so that is the end solution, now what about the guy who gets droped in battle 2 min before end on losing side and trys to do something but gets no wp?
We are trying to not only come up with AFK solutions but to deal with situations that are not AFK but could look like it to the solution. |

Just think about... CCP runs game for 2 years... and it feels like a beta-test. They did nothing... and not so long ago the sayed that "There is no more major client updates", so yea - THEY CAN'T FIX AFK.

Just look at this ewar code they deployed or the logi "fix". |
