The map is Line Harvest and the solution, which is easier than removing a graphic element, is to move the objective somewhere else. Actually the best place would be at the southeast corner of the northwest C building and moving the south team's starting point up a bit.

You mean Ashlands? where people climb the ladders up the pipes (or fly) and spam uplinks? There is a very simple way to clear them out and it only requires a few shotty scouts (Y'know what people claim to be a bad thing for this game?) Just get on the rail while cloaked and hide while waiting for it to recharge, once full activate it and make a mad dash towards the pipe campers, dispose of said reds and place an uplink up there if you wish to take another step into keeping them off.
AND I BACKED THE FUCK DOWN.

This is a map where snipers can really shine. The trick to fighting it is don't try and camp the objective, keep a few cqc suits close to it but in cover so they can't just have a scout jump down and hack it, and fight them from one of the other high points. I've sat there with a laser often racking up the kills because they don't have good cover while they are there. (assuming I'm thinking the right map).
It is possible to win with the other team having the pipes. |

The map is ashlands and I agree, the pipes suck. I would be fine with them if you didn't have to climb a mile long ladder to get to them or take a dropship.
You can't fight in here! This is the war room.

Easier said than done. If you have two dudes, one at each ladder, you may be killed before climbing it all the way up.
It's doable (getting the enemy team off the pipes), but if you don't gave a full squad of six with various skills and you don't communicate, it might be a tad bit hard. |

The team on the pipes doesn't always win at all. They're the idiots that will get a sniper round to the head first. I've killed 20 guys who were on those pipes in one round before with my sniper rifle, and a squad mate got about the same number. It's a stupid place to go because killing them is so easy. |

Indeed. Vertical gameplay is one of the best things about good map design. And yes, the high ground is at an advantage. Fighting over tactically relevant points is important, but yes, we're a bit low on the ladder count.

I did it solo with only 3 clones. First one cloaked up the later, walked past a commando... killed a Amarr assault (who was using a officer weapon to farm kills) then an ADV sentienel (amarr) then a min logi, then onto a calscout, then I realised there was a commando sniping with a thale over at the ladder I came up (I didn't notice him before...) I walked up to him sat there watching him try (and fail) at sniping... after 5s and no kills I just sent him a mail (Yes, I had time to send this fool mail in battle) saying 'Pay attention, I'm right beside you!' then after sending I waited a sec... nothing so I simply killed him... Still funny...

I'd rather get rid of the f**kin stupid huge pointless skyscraper in the middle of the map exposing the 'crowsnest' and pipes to an easier WB strike because these huge towers don't serve any real purpose except beign a pain in the a**

I don't know what the problem is?
I regularly put links on the pipes, and I regularly clean the pipes from enemy uplinks.
I also get shot by snipers regularly when on the pipes...
This is absolutely working in a very balanced way. You can win these maps even with enemy uplinks on the pipes for the whole game...
Please move on to more important stuff!

Easier said than done. If you have two dudes, one at each ladder, you may be killed before climbing it all the way up. I have never experienced it as people watching the ladders so very closely. If there is a team that is so dedicated the strategy of having people watching the two ladders, it seems like that teamwork is what won the game.
Regardless, Snipers and ADS can cause the opponents to scatter so slayers can climb up and take them out. It requires teamwork to pull off both tactics.

I suggest abusing the heck out of the map feedback area as Rattati recently requested. It might even be worthwhile to suggesting specific points on maps where ladders could be added or such. 'Tis info he can take directly back to the team.

You just stand under cover where the guys on the Pipes can't shoot you and listen for the inertial dampeners. Then run out, kill the guy before he can move, and then run back to cover. And of course, remember to make sure you are more than 5m from the Remote Explosives before you shoot them.
