Saxonmish had made a video, I tried myself, it's terrible. It's fun though I like the feeling of firing it, but if you're not hovering close to your target, it doesn't do ****. So as soon as there is one militia AV fit, you're screwed. |

Last time I ran a Blaster Incubus was awesome! I had some much fun1 :)
Then my squad mates called me useless and I felt bad :(

Blasters have always been the worst thing to put on a DS. You've got to get too low for the gunner to hit anything and/or do noticeable damage. Which not only makes it far too easy for the gunner to be shot out but also makes it easier to take down the DS; because being so low increases the odds of crashing into the environment, either from pilot error or from AV knocking it around, as well as increasing the distance needed to be traveled to get out of range of AV.

I couldn't even nag a MLT redberry when flying an Incubus/Blaster combo. I promptly landed belly-side up in an explosion.

I respecced into blasters just to see if I could do any better with a proto and the skills up but nope. Hit detection is effed up. However, I didn't mind speccing it up otherwise because I love firing the thing. I am precticing strafing rather than hovering and I noticed that when I fire into infantry they have a tendency to scatter. I might not get the kills, but I certainly distract opponents and keep them from shooting so my team can have a better shot at infiltrating the area. It has helped as far as I can see. It also makes vehicles move too. |

There actually was a time, waaaay back, where side blasters were easily the best anti infantry option. That time has very long since passed though

Must have been in closed beta because I can't recall them ever being good. Though admittedly it's was hard for anyone without a vehicle greenberry to find out as all the other ones would rage the moment you got in.
